ARTURO GUTIERREZ

Arturo Gutierrez was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather, and great grandfather, as well as a cherished brother, uncle, and friend to so many who were fortunate enough to know him.
We invite family and friends to come together to celebrate Arturo’s life, share memories, and honor the love and happiness he brought into our lives.

Arturo had many nicknames throughout his life, but perhaps the most special was “Lolo”, as he was lovingly known by his grandchildren and great grandchild. To us he was a source
of love, wisdom, guidance, and never-ending support.

We will forever be grateful for the lessons he taught us, the stories he shared, the laughter we shared together, and all of the memories he gave us simply by being present in our lives. He
was our guiding light, our rock, and an embodiment of unconditional love.

We will forever carry our deepest love and gratitude for him in our hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents Arturo and Maria Gutierrez, in-laws Raymundo Oliveros and Bertha Ruiz Oliveros, and his sister Christina Melissa Gutierrez.

Mr. Gutierrez is survived by his spouse Sylvia E. Gutierrez, children Arturo Lacey, Marc (Katherine) Gutierrez, and Jessica (Luis) Benavides. He is also survived by his grandchildren Gerardo E. (Alexa) Gutierrez, Marcela A. Gutierrez, Kristen Ferreyro, Hernan Ferreyro II, great grandchild Elijah Matthew Gutierrez, sister Patricia Hernandez, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

A celebration of Arturo’s life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Christ Miracle Center, 4400 Sanders Ave. Laredo, Texas 78041. A prayer service will be held at 5:00 p.m.

In keeping with the spirit of celebrating his life and the joy he brought to those around him, the family invites everyone to wear bright or colorful attire rather than traditional black.

Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Mr. Salazar is survived by his spouse Martha Garcia Salazar, children Martin Armando (Ashley J.) Salazar Jr., Isis Garcia (David Hernandez), Samantha Guadalupe Garcia, Cassandra Salazar (Rolando Garza), Edward Salazar (Katheryne Ramirez), Michael Aaron Salazar, Zoey Salazar, Denise Salazar (Dominick Avila), and Jeffrey (Noemi) Salazar. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, brothers, sisters, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Mr. Eleazar Garcia passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at the age of 49 in Laredo, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father Anastacio Garcia.

Mr. Garcia is survived by his beloved children Roxanna Garcia, Joanne Garcia, Chris Angel Garcia, and Genesis Garcia, and his loving mother Irma Villarreal. Mr. Daniel Alfredo Navarro passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026, at the age of 71 in Laredo, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents Candelario and Irene Navarro.

Mr. Navarro is survived by his siblings Sandra A. (Jose Luis) Tristán, David A. Navarro (Sandra J. Dovalina), Héctor A. Navarro (ϯ Gicela Zapata), Sara A. Garcia, and Fidel A. (Idalia) Navarro. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, as well as other relatives and friends.

Mr. Roberto Magallanes passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at the age of 80 in Laredo, Texas.

Mr. Magallanes is survived by his beloved wife Librada Magallanes, son Bernardo (Nelly) Magallanes, and his daughter Dorothy Magallanes. He is also survived by his grandchildren Mario Felipe Cortez Jr., Roberto Damian Cortez, Amanda Mahen, Anna Victoria Magallanes, Bernardo Miguel Magallanes, numerous nieces, nephews, as well as other relatives and friends.

JAVIER H. MARTINEZ, JR.

Mr. Javier H. Martinez, Jr. passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, on Friday, July 31, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 64.

Mr. Martinez was a man of deep faith and unwavering devotion to God. He graduated from the Minor Seminary in Corpus Christi, Texas, and later earned his degree from St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas. Throughout his life, he found great joy in serving the Lord and faithfully dedicated his time and talents to the numerous ministries and organizations at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

He had a passion for music and was known for sharing his gift of playing the guitar and singing, bringing comfort and happiness to those around him. In his leisure time, he enjoyed playing golf and tennis with his friends, creating many cherished memories through fellowship and laughter.

Above all, Mr. Martinez will be remembered for his kind heart, steadfast faith, generous spirit, and the love he shared with his family, friends, and church community. His life was a testament to service, compassion, and devotion, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched. May he rest in the eternal peace of our Lord.

He was preceded in death by his father Javier H. Martinez, Sr. and his brother Carlos Martinez.

Mr. Martinez is survived by his loving wife Patricia A. Martinez, beloved mother Maria De Los Angeles “Mary” Martinez, brothers and sisters Mary (Ken) Weeks, Ricardo Martinez, Christina Martinez, and Veronica Martinez. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Letty (Armando) Flores, Annabel (Philip) McCabe, Lizette Sandoval (Ray Cisneros), numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Aguero Funeral Home and Crematorium, 4402 E. Saunders St., Laredo, TX 78041. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m.

Family and friends attending the funeral services are kindly asked to meet at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on Saturday, August 15, 2026. A Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.

EVELIA CAVAZOS

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Evelia Cavazos, who entered eternal rest
on July 27, 2026, at the age of 82. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and
friend whose kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family touched countless lives.
Evelia found great joy in the simple things that made life meaningful. She loved sewing,
preparing delicious meals for her family, and was especially known for making homemade flour
tortillas that became a cherished tradition and expression of her love. She also enjoyed tending
to her beautiful plants and, above all, spending precious time with her beloved grandchildren.
Her home was always filled with warmth, love, and the comforting presence that made everyone
feel welcome.

For more than 40 years, Evelia faithfully served the United Independent School District in Food
Production. Through her years of dedicated service, she earned the respect and appreciation of
her coworkers and the community, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, commitment, and
compassion.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Rosa Lydia Esquivel; her mother, Evelia
Guerra; and her siblings, Raul Ramirez and Carolina Ramirez.

Evelia leaves behind her loving husband, Joel J. Cavazos Sr., with whom she shared a lifetime
of love and devotion. She is also survived by her children: San Juana Ramirez, Guadalupe
Esquivel, Rosalinda Esquivel (Jose), Jose David Esquivel, Joel J. Cavazos Jr. (Maria), Israel
Cavazos (Vanessa), and Ismael Cavazos (Kristina). She is further survived by her siblings: Victoria Madrigal, Francisca Rangel, Domitila Cambray, Isidoro Ramirez, Estela Tarango, Saul Ramirez, Delia Jackson, Rosalinda Mendoza, and Gloria Ramirez. Evelia also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her love, guidance, and the countless memories they shared with her.

Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in knowing that Evelia's legacy lives
on through the family she loved so deeply and the lives she touched with her generosity,
warmth, and unwavering faithfulness. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

He was preceded in death by his father Nabor Garcia Quintero, and his brother Nabor Garcia, Jr.
