A few things could be going on here.

1️⃣ First, maybe it’s time to move up your a more aggressive laser treatment, my personal favorite is a CO2 laser. It is ablative and does have some down time you’ll need to plan for, but the results are excellent when it comes to smoothing skin texture and minimizing brown spots caused by sun damage.

2️⃣ Secondly, it’s probably good to see a dermatologist to confirm if the brown spots are maybe not age or sun spots and are actually melasma. In the case of melasma, some lasers can actually make it worse. Chemical peels such as VI Peel can be a great option to minimize melasma brown spots.

🤩 This beautiful patient is only 7 weeks post upper blepharoplasty (eyelid lift) and is healing wonderfully!

An upper bleph is a great option to remove excess or lax skin of the upper lids and reduce eyelid heaviness.

It’s a quick in office procedure using local anesthesia (you will not be “put to sleep”) and takes about an hour.

It’s a tiny sliver of skin we remove but goes a long way in brightening the whole appearance of the face!

The third photo shows the incision placement on the upper lids, once healed the incision blends beautifully into the natural creases of the eyelid.

Here’s a little bit of the reasoning that goes behind deciding if a cartilage rib graft is needed in a rhinoplasty (nose job) or not. Once I determine if cartilage is in fact needed then I determine where it will come from. It can come from the patient’s own ear or in some cases from a cadaver rib. Cadaver rib cartilage is really straight and strong so can be a great option for additional support.

⚡️⚡️Yes, I use an ablative fractional carbon dioxide laser. What that means is that each little spot of laser that strikes the skin is “ablating” or vaporizing the skin.

CO2 has the reputation of being very aggressive, which is not always the case. It can be if it needs to be or if we want it to be. But I can also tailor the settings to the exact intensity we want it to be for each patient. I can turn them lower in their power and also spread out the spots so there is a lower density.

We’d shared her 5 week results in the past and they’ve only gotten better with time and will even continue to improve as she heals!

I think her biggest impact is in her under eyes. While there are devices, and creams for under eyes, to achieve results this dramatic a lower blepharoplasty (eyelid lift) surgery is needed. A lower bleph makes such a big difference in the overall appearance of the face and leads to a less tired appearance.

1️⃣ First, we want to maintain masculinity with the outcome

2️⃣ Second, the facial hair must be considered and an understanding that a slight shift in the beard near the ear will occur

Ultimately, men want to look and feel refreshed and this example is a powerful snapshot of accomplishing that goal!

🤖 It surprises me just how many patients come to us with AI generated photos of themselves post-procedure asking if they can expect results similar to their AI rendering.

So, we wanted to test AI to see just how accurate it is compared to a real surgical outcome of mine.

Three main differences I notice off the bat with this rendering are:

Neckline: Her real surgical result is actually better than the AI rendering. The AI rendering leaves room for improvement with her jowls while her surgical result is a more crisp jawline.

Brows: AI added a bit of a brow lift to its rendering when they were left untouched during surgery.

Skin quality: AI gave her skin a more airbrushed result when in actuality a facelift does not address skin quality. A CO2 laser session can be added to a facelift to improve skin tone, texture and quality.

This exercise is just for fun, we don’t use any AI in our practice. During consultations, we show past surgical outcomes of mine and not AI photos so you can have a realistic idea of what is possible with full facial rejuvenation surgery.
