Every second matters when it comes to recognizing the signs of a stroke. Knowing the warning signs and acting FAST can save a life. 🚑🧠

Remember BE FAST:

🅱️ **Balance** – Sudden loss of balance or coordination
👀 **Eyes** – Sudden vision changes or trouble seeing
😊 **Face** – Facial drooping or uneven smile
💪 **Arms** – Arm weakness or numbness
🗣️ **Speech** – Slurred speech or difficulty speaking
⏰ **Time** – Time to call 911 immediately!

A stroke can happen to anyone, at any age. Quick treatment can reduce long-term damage and improve recovery outcomes. That’s why awareness is so important!

Let's give a big shoutout to our May Employee of the Month here at Spring View Hospital, Mikaila Wayne! 🎉

"While making leadership rounds, a patient gave kudos for Mikaila for her compassionate, caring bedside manner. The patient said Mikaila met her needs before she asked for anything. Mikaila could take the patient's vital signs without even waking her up. However, what stood out the most to the patient was how Mikaila went above and beyond for her. The patient was from out of town and was brought in for an acute illness. She was unable to get her phone charger. The patient had no family locally to support her. Her phone was dying. Mikaila went out of her way to go through the phone chargers that had been left behind to find a charger that would fit the patient's phone. The patient was able to charge her phone and then call her mom. She was also able to keep the charger."

"It meant so much to the patient for Mikaila to support her emotional needs in addition to her physical needs to be able to call her mom."

Mandy recently celebrated her 5-Year Service Anniversary as a dedicated member of our Environmental Services team. While her recognition was unintentionally missed during our annual Service Awards Banquet, we want to make sure she receives the appreciation she so greatly deserves today! 🌟

For the past five years, Mandy has played an important role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors, and staff. Her hard work, dedication, and commitment behind the scenes make a difference throughout our hospital every single day.
