Between haunted houses, spooky costumes, and trick-or-treating, there’s one lifesaving item worth keeping on hand: naloxone! 👻

Naloxone can reverse an opioid overdose and give someone a second chance at life. You don’t have to be a medical professional to use it, and having it nearby could make all the difference in an emergency.

🗺️ Need some? We can help! Check out our map to find locations offering free naloxone throughout eastern Jackson County. https://bit.ly/47kn7gP

"Say BOO! to the flu" is classic copywriting.

Over the years, the phrase has appeared in many JCPH posts, flyers, and email subject lines. We're not alone in promoting Halloween slogans, either. Variations on "Say BOO! to the flu," "Test before you treat," and "Get your vaccine by Halloween" can be found in health agencies, clinics, and schools across the country.

Rhymes are a great time. Swipe for this year's "Say BOO! to the flu!"

On Friday, we celebrated Karen Van Fleet's retirement from Jackson County Public Health.

Karen brought a dedicated spirit and great sense of humor to her 13 years in epidemiology with JCPH, and 44 years in nursing. We were honored to celebrate this special day with her family, alongside current and former staff members. Several attendees spoke warmly of Karen's knowledge, thoughtful support, and calm presence that defined her contributions to public health.

Join us in thanking Karen Van Fleet for her years of service at JCPH and beyond. Congratulations on your retirement!
