Reduce your chances of developing by knowing the contributing factors. These include having a family history of this cancer, eating a low-fiber diet, and being overweight. Men are more likely to get and die from this form of cancer, which is why early detection is so important. At your next appointment, ask your provider about the at-home and convenient FIT screening kit. All you need to do is collect a stool sample and then send the kit back to us. Talk to your doctor about receiving a kit by calling 703-443-2000.

June is , and there is no better time to see your doctor for an annual checkup. Knowing your vital numbers, like your cholesterol levels and weight, is a great way to monitor your risk for preventable chronic health conditions that impact men at higher rates than women. These chronic conditions include heart disease and diabetes, but they are often manageable with medications and lifestyle changes like diet, exercise, and reducing stress levels. Make your next appointment by calling (703) 443-2000 and create a plan with your doctor to begin taking charge of your own health and wellness.

We appreciate every opportunity to engage with the community where they are. Last weekend, HealthWorks attended the Loudoun County Pride festival at Ida Lee Recreation Center-Town of Leesburg Parks and Recreation in Leesburg. We shared information on our resources and programs, updated the community on important HealthWorks initiatives, and introduced ourselves to new patients. We are incredibly grateful to our Employee Advisory Committee, who volunteered to represent us at this exciting event.
