💙 More than a gift shop.

For many patients, families, visitors, and team members, the Women's Hospital Association (WHA) Gift Shop is a place to find comfort, celebrate special moments, or simply brighten someone's day.

Fresh flowers, thoughtful gifts, cozy blankets, cheerful keepsakes, and unique treasures fill the shelves. Behind it all is Kathy Michaud (pictured right), Gift Shop manager, whose warm smile and dedication help make the Gift Shop a welcoming stop for so many who walk through CMMC's doors.

The Women's Hospital Association has supported patient care at CMMC for generations, and the Gift Shop remains one of the many ways that tradition of caring continues today.

Next time you're at CMMC, stop in, say hello to Kathy, and take a look around. You never know what treasure you'll find. 🫶

Community health starts with community partnerships. 💙

Dr. Rebecca Brakeley, Chief of Pediatrics, joined community leaders at the YWCA Central Maine Visionary Women’s Luncheon to connect, share ideas, and discuss the evolving needs of women and families in our region.

Strong communities are built through collaboration, and we're grateful for opportunities to learn from and work alongside organizations that are making a difference every day.

Paving the way for better sidewalks at CMMC. 🚧

Work is underway on a much-needed sidewalk upgrade around campus to create a safer, smoother experience for patients, visitors, and team members.

You may notice temporary walkway changes and minor delays during construction, so please allow a little extra time for appointments and visits.

Thank you to the City of Lewiston for partnering with us on this important project!

Today, flags will wave from front porches and chairs will line rainy parade routes across our communities. And throughout the day, all of us at CMMC will pause with gratitude to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives for our country. 🇺🇸

Named after two people from her CMMC care team. 🩷🥹

Baby Bailey Anne’s family gave labor and delivery nurse Bailey York and delivery OB Dr. Anne Merrick the sweetest surprise this week when they shared the story behind her name.

Safe to say this little girl already has two very proud namesakes. 💙

Hello Summer!? 👏

Heat Advisory Message from Central Maine Medical Center:

We are glad to finally be seeing some warmer weather across Maine, but with temperatures expected to reach the high 80s today, it is important to take precautions and stay safe in the sun, especially during spring sporting events and other outdoor activities.

A few reminders for staying safe in the heat:
• Drink water regularly throughout the day.
• Limit direct sun exposure during the hottest part of the day, especially between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
• Take breaks in the shade or air conditioning whenever possible.
• Keep a close eye on young children, older adults, and those with chronic health conditions.

Enjoy the sunshine, stay safe, we’re here if you need us! ☀️

Before patients reach our doors, someone is already responding. 🚑

An EMT loading equipment into the ambulance. A dispatcher answering a call in the middle of the night. A paramedic starting care on the side of the road. A LifeFlight of Maine crew landing to help move a critically ill patient faster.

Behind every siren is a team of people making fast decisions, staying calm under pressure, and showing up for our communities every day.

During EMS Week, we want to thank the paramedics, EMTs, dispatchers, first responders, ambulance crews, and LifeFlight teams we are proud to work alongside every day. 💙
