Delta Dental of Virginia's mascot, Flossy, "stopped by" on their virtual "road trip" to check out the new X-ray machines in our dental office. With their support, we were able to invest in a new state-of-the-art 3D Panorex imaging machine and replace three aging X-ray machines at our Buena Vista office, improving access to higher-quality diagnostic images.
This new technology enables RAHC’s dental team to perform more complex procedures in-house, eliminating the need for patient referrals to specialists located hours away. This removes significant transportation and time barriers that previously caused many to delay or forgo necessary dental care.
“Having this level of advanced technology in a rural setting is a game-changer,” said Dr. Stuart Fargiano, Dental Director at Rockbridge Area Health Center. “I’ve seen patients put off necessary treatment simply because the idea of a three-hour drive was too much to manage. This machine removes that barrier. It’s about more than just convenience; it’s about providing timely, quality care and taking that travel-related stress completely out of the equation for our community. Ultimately, it gives our providers the state-of-the-art technology they need to provide the highest quality care to our community.”
