Every person should know the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, and any time an abnormality is discovered, it should be investigated by a healthcare professional.

Most people who have breast cancer signs and symptoms will initially notice only one or two, and the presence of these signs and symptoms do not automatically mean that you have breast cancer.

By performing monthly breast self-exams, you will be able to more easily identify any changes in your breasts. Be sure to talk to your healthcare professional if you notice anything unusual.

➡️ Get the FREE symptoms checklist today to stay proactive with your breast health. Plus, learn the three ways to perform a breast self-exam.

You may have started the protocol, but you're still sleeping five hours, eating 50 grams of protein, and running on caffeine and cortisol.

Your body can't metabolize a supplement properly on five hours of sleep.

It can't build lean mass on 50 grams of protein a day.

It can't adapt to a training stimulus when cortisol is running the show from morning to night.

Every protocol you add is only as effective as the foundation it sits on.

Sleep and stress regulation create the hormonal environment. Nutrition and hydration provide the raw materials. Movement sends the adaptation signal. And supplements, medications, and targeted therapies amplify what's already working.

When those layers are stacked in the right order, each one compounds the one above it. When they're out of order, you spend more, take more, and wonder why none of it feels like it's working.

Before your next refill or reorder, take stock of what's underneath it. Sleep. Food. Water. Movement. The interventions work better when the foundation is solid.

Studies have shown that more than half of women aged 30-35 already score moderate-to-severe on a menopause symptom scale. Not at 45. Not at 40. Between 30 and 35.

Most won't hear the word "perimenopause" from a healthcare provider for another decade.

Standard screening relies on FSH and estrogen, two markers that stay in range long after symptoms begin. Progesterone, the hormone most responsible for deep sleep, calm mood, and regular cycles, often starts to decline years before estrogen follows.

So your labs come back normal. But your sleep is wrecked, your anxiety feels disproportionate, and your cycles are shorter than they used to be. And no one checks progesterone.

A thorough evaluation checks progesterone at the right point in your cycle. It's often the first hormone to decline, and it's the one most standard panels leave out.

âś… If your symptoms started before anyone took them seriously, a full hormone evaluation can reveal what standard screening misses.

Schedule your consult and let's find out where your hormones actually stand.

Protein gets all the attention, and for good reason, but somewhere along the way, fiber became an afterthought.

Most adults are eating about 15 grams a day. The research consistently points to 30 or more as the threshold where metabolic benefits become significant.

Adequate fiber intake improves your post-meal glucose response, meaning your blood sugar stays more stable after meals. It feeds the short-chain fatty acid-producing bacteria in your gut that directly influence metabolic function, appetite signaling, and inflammation. And it increases the feeling of fullness without requiring you to eat less.

Most nutrition strategies are built around removing things. Fiber is one of the few additions that improves metabolic outcomes across the board.

If your macros look solid but your blood sugar or digestion don't reflect it, fiber may be the missing input.

âś… Start by tracking your fiber for one week. Most people are surprised by how low it actually is. If you want help building a nutrition strategy around the metrics that matter, we're here for that conversation.

Most conversations about blood sugar focus on what to remove. But one of the most effective ways to improve your insulin response has nothing to do with restriction. It has to do with feeding the right bacteria.

Akkermansia muciniphila is a gut bacterium that lives in your intestinal lining. It strengthens the mucus barrier that protects your gut wall, reduces systemic inflammation, and improves how efficiently your body responds to insulin.

Recent clinical research has confirmed what earlier studies suggested: higher levels of Akkermansia are associated with better metabolic outcomes. And you don't need a supplement to support it.

Akkermansia thrives on polyphenols and fermentable fiber. That means foods like:

→ Blueberries, raspberries, and pomegranate
→ Green tea and dark chocolate
→ Onions, garlic, and leeks
→ Chicory root and artichokes

These aren't exotic superfoods. They're accessible, affordable, and easy to add to what you're already eating.

The challenge is that most modern diets are low in both polyphenols and fermentable fiber. So even people who eat well may not be feeding the bacteria that matter most for metabolic function.

Add polyphenol-rich foods to your next grocery run. If you want to understand how your gut health is influencing your metabolism, we can help you connect those dots.

Your annual bloodwork probably includes fasting glucose and A1c and if those numbers come back in range, you're told your metabolism is fine.

But glucose is one of the last markers to move. It stays in range while your body compensates behind the scenes, producing more and more insulin to keep blood sugar steady. By the time glucose rises, the dysfunction has been developing for years.

Fasting insulin tells a different story. It reveals how hard your body is working to maintain that "normal" glucose reading. And it can flag insulin resistance at its earliest, most reversible stage, long before glucose or A1c ever shifts.

The problem is, most standard metabolic panels don't include it.

This matters because insulin resistance doesn't just lead to diabetes. It drives weight gain, inflammation, hormonal imbalance, cardiovascular risk, and fatigue. And the earlier it's identified, the more options you have to reverse it through nutrition, movement, and targeted support.

If your bloodwork has only ever included glucose and A1c, you may be missing the most informative marker on the panel.

Next time you get bloodwork, ask your provider to add fasting insulin.
