Inspired by her mother's experience with cerebral aneurysms and memory loss, Diane Francis learned early on the importance of patience, compassion, and understanding. Those qualities are at the heart of the work she does each day as Personal Care Activities Director at Luther Acres - A Luthercare Community.

Diane is passionate about creating meaningful experiences that bring residents together, spark laughter, and encourage connection. One of her favorite memories this year was helping residents design their own Easter hats before hosting a fun photo shoot complete with colorful backdrops, props, and plenty of smiles.

For Diane, the most rewarding part of her work is building relationships with residents, learning their stories, and finding new ways to keep them engaged. Seeing residents smile, laugh, and ask, "What are we doing today?" reminds her that she's making a difference.

Thank you, Diane, for the energy, creativity, and compassion you bring to our community each day. 💙

Tuesdays just got a little more relaxing at Luther Acres - A Luthercare Community with the addition of a new yoga class that’s already gaining a great group of regulars.

In the Wellness Center Aerobics Room, this gentle, feel-good yoga class is open to all experience levels. Whether you’re rolling out a mat for the first time or already have a steady practice, you’ll feel right at home.

Instructor Jean Wentz brings over 25 years of experience and a calm, welcoming approach that helps everyone move, stretch, and breathe a little easier, supporting overall well-being along the way. 💙

Two generations, one unforgettable day on the farm 🌱🐣

Today marked our first Intergenerational Day at The Wittel Farm, where residents from Luther Acres - A Luthercare Community and children from Luthercare for Kids Annville spent the morning exploring, learning, and getting their hands dirty together!

From meeting worms and chicks up close to planting potatoes, composting, scattering seeds, and harvesting lettuce, everyone played a part in bringing the farm to life. The morning wrapped up with a wagon ride around the farm and a chance to enjoy the fruits of their teamwork.

It was wonderful to see the different generations we serve come together to learn from one another, try something new, and build connections through shared experiences. 💙🤍

There’s no way to fit an entire season of memories into one post, but we’re giving it our best shot. 🌷📸

As summer approaches, we’re looking back on a spring filled with meaningful moments, connection, and community.

From St. Patrick’s Day celebrations at St. John's Herr Estate - A Luthercare Community and the Luther Acres - A Luthercare Community Book Fest to Lancaster Stormers games, National Skilled Nursing Care Week, Katy’s takeovers featuring plenty of delicious dishes from our talented dining team, and a heartfelt, resident-led storytelling event, this season was full of special memories.

Across Luthercare for Kids, our learners spent the spring learning, growing, and having fun. Our Reamstown preschoolers celebrated their graduation last week, and Annville will celebrate theirs this Friday.

We also came together for Pump it for Parkinson’s, where 77 participants at Luther Acres took an incredible 250,559 steps in support of a meaningful cause.

In addition, we honored 265 resident volunteers across both campuses who contributed 13,157 hours in 2025, and celebrated residents who will reach the milestone of 100 years old this year.

Just a few highlights from a season full of activity, laughter, and connection. Thank you to everyone who made this spring so special. We can’t wait for summer! ☀️💙

One week from today, these two Luther Acres - A Luthercare Community residents will begin their next big journey, and we can’t wait to follow along! As they travel, we’ll be sharing weekly “postcards” from the road so you can experience the sights, stories, and special moments right alongside them.

This National Senior Health & Fitness Day, we’re celebrating the many ways residents at Luthercare communities stay active and engaged through well-being opportunities for every interest and ability level.

From drumline and H2O volleyball to yoga, total body toning, balance classes, off-campus nature walks, and resident-led Qigong, there’s always something happening to support healthy living and meaningful connection. 💙
