These little neighbors found the perfect spot to line up and soak in some warmth. Fun fact: turtles are ectothermic, meaning they rely on outside sources like sunshine and warm rocks to help regulate their body temperature.

Thank you to Ron Geib for capturing and sharing this wonderful photo!

A meaningful milestone was celebrated Sunday as Chaplain Rhonda Good was ordained during a special service surrounded by family, friends, residents, colleagues, and members of her faith community.

The service beautifully reflected Rhonda’s call to pastoral ministry and her deep love for those she serves each day at Landis Homes. Through scripture, music, affirmations, and the liturgy of ordination, those gathered gave thanks for her faithful leadership, compassionate presence, and commitment to accompanying residents on their spiritual journeys.

We rejoice with Rhonda and celebrate this important step in her ministry, grateful for the many ways she shares God’s love within the Landis Homes community and beyond.

💪We Have a Challenge Gift!💪
Last year, 46 residents needed the assistance of the Caring Fund. When you Fill the Gap, you are helping a resident receive assistance from the Caring Fund, which allows them to continue receiving high-quality care even after their personal financial resources no longer cover the full cost of their care.

The good news is that generous friends of Landis Homes have stepped forward to give a Challenge gift of $24,000! They are hopeful this challenge will inspire the spirit of generosity and raise the most funds for the Caring Fund. That means every dollar you give will be doubled for twice the impact!

Your donation before September 19, will make a significant difference in the life of a resident!

A Note from the Lumina by Landis Leadership Team

On August 8, 2026, our inaugural director, Stephanie “Teffie” Landmann, unexpectedly passed away at her home in Lititz. As we continue to process this loss as a community, we want to share an update on the future of Lumina,The Dementia Friendly Experience.

Larry Zook, President and CEO, shared the following with the Landis family in the days following the tragedy: “Teffie was hired in 2024 to build on Landis' commitment to providing a highly supportive environment for individuals living with memory loss. She was uniquely qualified for this role, having taught Positive Approach to Care (PAC) with Teepa Snow since 2018. Her expertise in mentoring individuals and organizations on best practices for supporting those experiencing brain change made her a sought-after speaker and educator. We were truly blessed to have her as our very first director.”

To honor Teffie and the work she loved so deeply, Landis Communities remains committed to becoming a Dementia Center of Excellence with a 100% PAC-trained workforce. Chaplain Audrey Kanagy, who worked alongside Teffie in conducting Lumina trainings, has been named interim director, and will be supported by a team of Landis professionals with advanced certifications in evidence-based dementia care. We appreciate so many who have stepped up to continue this important work.

In the coming weeks, we will begin the search for a new director. For now, let us remember and celebrate the significant impact Teffie had on Landis Communities. In her spirit, and that of Nehemiah 2:18: "Let us start rebuilding." Together, we will carry forward the work she so faithfully began.

Healthcare and Personal Care residents, their families and team members recently gathered outdoors for a summer picnic featuring burgers, hot dogs, baked beans and other picnic favorites. Of course, no summer meal would be complete without strawberry shortcake for dessert!

With lively conversation, a few fun hats and lots of laughter around the tables, it was a wonderful afternoon spent together. Thank you to everyone who helped make the picnic such a special occasion!
