We have collaborated with The Mennonite Children's Choir of Lancaster for a long time, including recently working together to provide intergenerational music opportunities for students as well as residents with dementia. 

Here is a great event you can attend and learn more about the choir as well as getting an early start on Christmas Carol singing!



Join us for a meaningful evening of community singing and delicious food! RSVP by this Friday, October 30. This year "Soups, Songs, and Sweets" comes with a joyful Christmas around the world theme. We are eager to spend the evening with you!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Active Aging Week at Landis Homes! Throughout the week, residents had plenty of opportunities to move, connect, try something new and simply enjoy time together.

From Chair Yoga, aqua fitness and e-bike rides to Cycling Without Age, Brain Boosters, water volleyball and our community walk to Oregon Dairy, there was no shortage of ways to stay active. We also enjoyed the Picnic at the Pinnacle, a Blessing of the Animals, a wellness presentation and a fun-filled Fall Festival complete with scarecrow decorating, games, music and fall treats.

Most of all, we loved seeing so many residents come together, laugh, spend time outdoors and celebrate all the ways we can stay active and engaged at every age.

Stewardship of the land where we are located is lived out in many ways at Landis Homes. Members of the Friends of the Woods and Wetlands group recently gathered to plant nearly 30 native trees and shrubs, including flowering dogwood, witch hazel, spicebush, bottlebrush buckeye and maple leaf viburnum, helping to enhance habitat, support wildlife and strengthen the beauty of the landscape for future generations. Thanks to all who took part in this event!

On Saturday, October 17, we're opening our doors for the annual Explore Retirement Living Open House from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Homes open today include a Crossings 2-bedroom apartment, a Harvest View 1-bedroom apartment, two south campus hybrid homes, and a south campus cottage. Along the way, meet members of our team, learn more about life at Landis Homes and enjoy delicious samples from the Owl Hill Bistro.

It was a fantastic day at Landis Homes Saturday as residents, their families, and team members joined together to raise awareness and funding for Alzheimer's Association- Greater PA Chapter. It was the first year Landis Communities hosted a "Walk in a Box." We have already raised about $3,000 for this effort. We’re excited to announce Emily Weaver’s promotion to Director of Personal Care at Landis Homes!

Emily brings 24 years of nursing experience and a heartfelt commitment to building meaningful relationships with residents and families. Since May 2023, she has served as our Personal Care Clinical Care Coordinator, and we’re grateful to have her continue supporting residents, families and team members in this new role.
