🌿 Happy National Relaxation Day!

Today is a good day to remember that rest doesn’t always have to be earned.

Whether relaxation looks like reading a book, spending time outside, taking a nap, listening to music, enjoying time with people you love—or simply doing absolutely nothing for a little while—giving ourselves opportunities to slow down matters.

For those who spend their days caring for and supporting others, making room for your own restoration is important, too.

How are you relaxing today?

🧠 A reminder from MPA: Your brain needs breaks, too.

In a culture that often celebrates productivity, it can be easy to overlook the value of rest, connection, and time away from our responsibilities.

Taking a break isn’t wasted time. Rest can support attention, emotional regulation, creativity, and our ability to reconnect with the people and things that matter to us.

What helps you truly disconnect and recharge?

📣 A stronger profession starts with a stronger collective voice.

Decisions made in Lansing and across Michigan can have a significant impact on psychologists—the way you practice, the patients you serve, reimbursement, licensure, training, and the future of the profession.

The Michigan Psychological Association works to ensure that psychologists have a voice in the conversations and decisions that affect psychology in our state.

But advocacy is stronger when more of us stand together.

By joining MPA, you’re not just gaining professional resources and connections. You’re adding your voice to a growing community working to protect, strengthen, and advance psychology in Michigan.

If you believe Michigan psychologists deserve a strong voice, we invite you to be part of it.

💙 Happy International Day of Friendship!

Today, we celebrate the relationships that help us feel seen, supported, connected, and understood.

Friendship is more than companionship. Meaningful social connections can strengthen our sense of belonging, provide support during difficult seasons, and bring joy and resilience to our everyday lives.

Today is a good day to reach out to a friend, check in on someone you care about, or simply let someone know you’re glad they’re in your life. 💙

Happy International Day of Friendship from MPA!
