Roy Anthony McCloud

Roy Anthony McCloud, 57, of South Point, OH, formally of Logan, WV, passed suddenly April 21, 2026, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, WV.

Roy was born on March 4, 1969 at Holden, WV. He was the son of the late June (Marcum) McCloud and Sidney McCloud of Verdunville, WV. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents Roy and Mattie (Carter) McCloud and Maternal Grandparents AW Marcum, Sr. and Nola (Whitt) Marcum.

Roy was a former employee of American Hydraulics & Rebuild.

He enjoyed playing with his dog, Oreo and walking, hiking and watching sports, especially baseball and wrestling.

Those left to cherish his memory include his half-brother Ernie Fields, numerous Aunts and Uncles, including Norma McCloud of Mitchell Heights, Ottsie Marie White of Logan, Paul Marcum of Michigan, Cliff Marcum of Alabama, and Bobby Marcum of Logan. Girlfriend, Candy Lane and her family, of South Point, OH. And a host of family and friends.

As per his wishes, he was cremated. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Carter Cemetery, Hoover Fork, Harts, WV.

David Richard Copley

David Richard Copley, 53 of Ethel, WV., made the journey to his heavenly home on Friday June 12th, with his family close by him.

He was born July 23, 1973, to the late Bobby & Kelsey Copley. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Copley Jr.; grandparents, Donald & Louella Copley; uncles, Jamie & Gray Copley; and nephew, Randy Vanover.

David was always the kind of guy that may seem quiet, as if he had little to say but you would be wrong! Although he wasn’t loud or over the top, he just had the most unique way of saying the funniest things. He could cut up and bring the entire room to a hard belly laugh, some even to tears, even himself. To say he was quite unique is an understatement. If you knew him, you know! He was just the all-around good hearted, fun loving, crack you up, kind of guy!

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 31 happy years, Julie Copley, David was the absolute love of her life; his daughter, Autum, (Daddy’s girl) and son-in-law, Brandon Smith who he became very close with; one grandson, Christopher (Biboy) Smith who was the light and his whole heart! David had many in-laws that quickly became his family, he stood by them as they did by him, He considered The Vanover Family as his own family. He had a close relationship with his uncle’s Rick & Mike Copley; he talked of how he grew up always hanging with them and he talked of having the best memories with them. He would say he was so thankful for his aunt Sheila, she is always there for Us! Always checking in on his wife, Julie, and for that he was grateful. He loved his family and friends dearly!

He was a good working man that liked his job, he worked with some of the best people, he knew he could always count on. The crew in the White’s Armature Coil Department, Ronald Hall, who he became close friends with in just a short time being there. David had a great crew he worked side by side with each day. Mike Brown (Preacher), Dillon Hammond (Pyle), Jacob (Jacobee) Frazier, and many close friends throughout the company. They are Family! This November would have been 20yrs with the company. David will be greatly missed and was loved beyond measure.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2026, at James Funeral Home with Mike Brown, Jacob Frazier, and Joshua Vanover officiating. Burial will follow in the White-Vanover Cemetery at Bruno. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2026, also at the funeral home.

Eddie Taylor Jr.

Eddie Taylor (ET) Jr. of Logan, age 76, passed away June 6, 2026. He was the son of the late Annie Mae Ball and Eddie Taylor Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers David, Tyrone, Willie C., and Joe.

He is survived by his daughters Courtney, Stacey, Sabrina, and Ivory and sons Eddie, Lance, and Cory. He is also survived by his brother George W Ball Jr. (Carol) and special friends Ron Jones and Anthony Page; 27 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

A special gathering will be held at a later date.

Ernestine Hensley

Ernestine Hensley, 81, of Logan, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord after a sudden illness on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Logan Regional Medical Center in Logan, West Virginia. She was born May 24th, 1945, to Albert Wilson and America “Merkie” Blevins Wilson at Holden Hospital in Holden, West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Donald Ray Hensley, and her daughter, Robin Hensley Butcher. Georgia Vaughn of Flint, Michigan, Carol Clanton of Lexington, NC, Robert “Buddy” Wilson of Peach Creek, WV, and Ethel Kennedy of Decatur, IL.

She was a faithful member and beloved Sunday School Teacher of Coal Branch Community Church for over 50 years. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She never met a stranger and made a lasting impact on her family, friends, and community.

Those left to cherish her memory are Tonya (Robert) Pack of Lexington, NC, and Donald Hensley of Logan, WV. Grandchildren, Sean (Amber) Butcher of Ben Creek, WV, Danielle Mounts of Logan, WV, Derek Pack of Lexington, NC, Erin (Brandon) Browning of Lexington, NC, Joshua Hensley and Family, of Chapmanville, WV, Trevor Hensley, Hurricane, WV. Great Grandchildren, Jasmyne (Jacob) Trent, Shayden Ooten, Cyprus Pack, Melita Pack, Adrianna Browning, Diamond Fritts, Hunter Moore, Jaxson Butcher, Dexter Browning, Abigael Mounts, Wynter Mounts, Madilyn Mounts. A host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Also, family friend, Michael (Lezly) Jeffrey.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2026, at James Funeral Home with Pastor Scottie Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Glen Nelson, Trevor Hensley, Derek Pack, Charlie Rice, Jesse (Bookie) Hensley, and Aaron Hensley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Donald Hensley, Michael Jeffrey, Scottie Ellis, Brady “Tank” Evans, Sean Butcher.

Zakkary Dawson

Zakkary Guage Dawson, 22 of Stollings, WV, departed this life May 24, 2026, at Logan Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Rebecca Watkins and Ron Dawson.

Zakkary is preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca, his maternal grandfather, William Watkins, his paternal grandmother, Helen Dawson, aunt, Rhonda Gibson, and uncle, Mickey Watkins.

Zakkary was a 2022 graduate of Logan High School. He loved school and learning new things. He was an avid gamer. He loved getting on his Xbox and playing with his friends and brothers. He was super proud to be an uncle and loved spending time with his nephews as much as he could. Zakk was quick witted. He loved to laugh and make jokes to make others laugh. He loved being with his family, but most of all, he loved being there with his Mamaw. She was his world.

Along with his father, Ron, Zakkary is survived by his brothers, Ron Hunter (Destiny) Dawson, William (Kerrie) Dawson, and Ethan Dawson; his grandmother, Gertrude Watkins; grandfather, Sonnie W. Dawson; nephews, Kyler Dawson, Jaxton Dawson; aunts, Cristy Watkins, Loretta Watkins, Phyllis Watkins, Della Lynn (Johnny) Brumfield, Gwen (Jack) Blevins, Deb Watkins, Sandy (Larry) Davis; uncles, Will (Crystal) Watkins, Johnny Watkins, Billy Watkins, Jimmy (Carla) Watkins, Keith Dawson, Rob Dawson, Kenneth Dawson, and Kevin Dawson.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Dawson, William Dawson, Ron Dawson, Will Watkins, Matthew Goff, and Bobby Fields.

Visitation will be from 6- 9 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2026, at James Funeral Home, Logan,WV. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2026, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to help with expenses.

George William Graham

“Well done my good and faithful servant” were likely the first words George William Graham heard as he danced through the gates of Heaven on May 19th, 2026, at the age of 89. While his departure from his earthly body was sudden his loved ones take comfort knowing he has been reunited with those gone before him, including his wife Gloria, and his son Bob.

Those left to carry on his memory include his son Bill (Jackie) Graham of Kentucky and his daughter-in-law Angie Graham of North Carolina. He is also survived by his grandchildren Shea Graham of Kentucky, Zack Graham (Taylor Nahoum) of North Carolina, Jenna Conaway (Barry) of Tennessee, and great-granddaughter Liza Conaway of Tennessee. He also leaves behind his special friend, Sylvia Pouleris, and numerous other friends across multiple states and within his community. George would tell you that someone doesn’t walk this earth for almost 90-years and not make a lot of friends, something he considered to be a great accomplishment.

George possessed what would be considered a true “servant’s heart,” having served his country in the Korean War as a young man and dedicating his life to serving God through ministry. One accomplishment he was extremely proud of was his “Cross Ministry,” and he made sure anyone that wanted a set of his crosses had access to them. Woodworking was a passion of his that evolved over the years from the projects he took on for his grandchildren to his most recent wishing wells and flower bed critters. He never took on this passion to make a living but instead did so to bring a smile to the face of whoever was the recipient of his latest prototype.

George was truly a one-of-a-kind human and his zest for life was unmatched. Throughout his life on earth, he experienced overwhelming loss, but he also experienced immense joy. He chose to make the best out of less-than-ideal circumstances and made sure to carry bits and pieces of each situation with him. He did not let this world make him hard and instead chose to see the beautiful side of things.

Per George’s request there will be no public funeral service. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to The American Cancer Society.

I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith.

We’ve been hard at work for the past month. Some of you may have noticed some construction work going on as you pass by.

We’re proud to reveal our brand new casket selection room. Families we serve will now be able to choose from a great selections of caskets. The best news is this isn’t all we have to choose from!

It’s been many years since we’ve had an actual physical show room for families to choose from and we couldn’t be more excited to add one back to our facility.

Most of the caskets you see on display have a wide variety of personalization and color options. We invite you to stop by and take a tour of our new selection room. We want to make sure we are equipped to honor your loved ones with the most professional and affordable funeral services in the community!

Sue Ann Hiatt

Sue Ann Hiatt, 88, passed away at Giles Carilion Hospital in Pearisburg, Virginia.

Sue Ann was born Sue Ann Stone in Logan, West Virginia, to Myrtle Mae Nicely Stone and Philip Malen Stone. She grew up in Logan and held dear the memories and stories from her childhood there. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Vivian (Charlie) Smith, Phyllis (Al) Connor, and Marlene (Ronnie) Rennie; and her brother, Philip Malen “Buck” Stone.

After high school, Sue Ann moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked for the FBI as a fingerprint clerk. She found great meaning in her work and was especially proud of the times she helped identify a criminal match through the fingerprint database. Following her marriage, Sue Ann devoted much of her life to caring for her home and family while living in several cities across the United States. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her love for her family, and the stories and memories she shared with those closest to her.

Sue Ann is survived by her three daughters, Stacy Ann Walls-Browning and her husband, Brian, of Peterstown, West Virginia; Karen Neala Dempsey of Tupelo, Mississippi; and Kimberly Deanna Walls of St. Louis, Missouri. She is also survived by her grandson, Michael Jerrod Dudding and his wife, Fayana, of Southaven, Mississippi; two great-grandchildren, Emma Grace Dudding and Leland Xavier Dudding; several nieces; one nephew; and her special grandniece, Courtney Adkins, of Charleston, West Virginia. Sue Ann had a special love for dogs and leaves behind her beloved dog, Oreo, who brought her comfort and companionship.

Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Frances Bishop and Stephanie Winslow- Messer for their friendship, kindness, and care.

Services will be held at James Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. May 19, followed by burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the time of the service.
