Not all formulas function the same. The ingredients matter.

I recently completed advanced training diving deeper into formula ingredients, molecular structure, digestion, and how different formulations interact with infant feeding development and regulation.

Not all formulas function the same in the body — and not all babies respond the same way. Understanding the science behind proteins, fats, carbohydrates, digestion, gut response, oral function, and how these compare to human milk allows me to better individualize care based on each baby’s unique presentation.

There is rarely one “perfect” answer for every infant. My goal is always to look at the whole picture and help families understand what their baby may be communicating through their feeding responses. 🌱

When I started my practice, I truly thought it would just be me.

I was determined that Feeding Foundations would be different.

There are many wonderful practices that serve as places for new therapists to learn and grow — and that is so important. I was once that therapist myself. But deep down, I envisioned something a little different for this space: a practice built around seasoned professionals who truly know themselves, know their passion, and genuinely love what they do.

A place focused on quality, holistic care.
A place that looks for the root, not just the symptom.
A place that supports families without judgment — simply helping them meet their goals in the way that feels right for them.

So when the opportunity came to bring another incredible therapist and dear friend onto our team, it was truly a no brainer.

I am beyond thankful to welcome Brittany LaGrange to Feeding Foundations.

Brittany is an amazing OT, an incredible human, and someone I deeply enjoy both professionally and personally. Rhonda, Brittany, and I literally began our professional careers together, and getting to work alongside women I respect so much brings me more joy than I can explain.

I know our families are going to love her just as much as we do. 🤍

Welcome to the team, Brittany!

Happy Speech-Language Pathologist Day! 💙🗣️

Today we celebrate the heart behind the work — the SLPs who help children find their voices, build confidence, connect with the world around them, and thrive in ways that go far beyond words.

At Feeding Foundations Speech Therapy, we are especially grateful for the opportunity to support families through connection, play, feeding, communication, and trust. Every small step matters, and it is an honor to walk alongside our families in those moments.

To all the SLPs pouring into children and families every day — thank you for your compassion, creativity, patience, and advocacy. Your work changes lives in lasting ways. 🌿

We’re so used to hearing “speech therapy” and thinking about articulation—how a child sounds when they speak.

But articulation is actually the last piece of the puzzle.

Before a child can produce clear speech, their body has to have a stable foundation:
✨ Breathing
✨ Swallowing
✨ Chewing
✨ Rest posture

These aren’t separate systems—they’re deeply connected. How a child breathes affects how they rest. How they rest affects how they swallow. And all of that shapes how speech develops.

In my practice, we take a whole child approach.
Instead of jumping straight to sounds, we step back and ask:
👉 Is the foundation supported?
👉 Is the body working with us, or against us?

Because when the body is regulated and supported, speech doesn’t have to be forced—it can emerge more naturally.

This is what makes our approach different.
We don’t just treat speech. We support the system that makes speech possible.

Happy IBCLC Day!

Today I want to recognize and thank the incredible IBCLCs I have the privilege of working with. Supporting babies and families well truly takes a village, and I’m so grateful for the collaboration we share.

Your knowledge, compassion, and dedication to helping mothers and babies navigate feeding is such an important part of early health and connection. It’s an honor to work alongside professionals who care so deeply about protecting and supporting the breastfeeding relationship.

Thank you for the work you do for families every single day. 🤍
