👶 Every baby deserves a strong start. For some families, that begins in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

In this video, Dr. Erik Thingvoll shares what you can expect if your baby needs NICU care. Dr. Thingvoll is a neonatologist and NICU medical director with our broader HCA Healthcare network.

Each year, more than 200,000 babies are born in HCA Healthcare hospitals — and some arrive earlier than expected. According to March of Dimes , about 1 in 10 babies in the U.S. are born prematurely, meaning they are born before 37 weeks of pregnancy.

What can patients expect after hip preservation surgery?

Preparing for surgery can bring a lot of questions—especially about what happens once the procedure is over.

In this educational video, the Director of our Orthopedic Unit for our HCA HealthONE Sky Ridge International Center for Hip Preservation walks patients and families through what to expect during their hospital stay and the early stages of recovery.

From managing pain and getting safely out of bed to working with the care team and preparing to go home, our goal is to make sure every patient understands what comes next and feels well prepared for each step of recovery. Knowing what to expect can help patients approach surgery with greater confidence and focus on what matters most: healing and getting back to the activities they love.

Some reunions are extra special. 💕✨

Our annual HCA HealthONE Sky Ridge NICU Reunion brought together a remarkable community of families whose stories began in our NICU. Parents, grandparents, siblings—and, of course, our NICU graduates—joined us for a day filled with hugs, smiles, laughter and more than a few happy tears.

From babies and busy toddlers to growing kids and teenagers, it was incredible to see just how far these NICU graduates have come. 💗

For our care teams, the reunion is a chance to reconnect with families they once cared for during some of their most vulnerable moments—and to see those tiny babies return as thriving children and teens. For families, it’s an opportunity to reunite with the team members who became such an important part of their story.

Every hug, every reunion and every “look at me now!” moment reminded us why this day means so much to us. To all of our NICU families: thank you for coming back, sharing your milestones with us and allowing us to celebrate how far you’ve come.

Watching your children grow is one of the greatest gifts our care teams could receive. 💕
