Hello! My regular schedule Center For Yoga LA is changing beginning this week - starting bright and early tomorrow morning! Here’s the jist of it:

New class time! Tues/Thurs 7:15am Vinyasa Flow 1/2 - however, Thursdays start in Nov due to a special series in Oct.

New class offering! Friday 2pm Vinyasa 1 class will now be Yin -All Levels (NOT heated)!

Also, for the next several weeks, I will continue to teach Vinyasa Flow 2/3 at 12:15 on Tuesdays & Thursdays until Joan gets back!

PRE/POSTNATAL STUDENTS - I am considering changing my Wednesday online class - any requests for days/times?

I am so happy to announce that my Vinyasa 1 class Center For Yoga LA is growing up (just like my daughters! 🥰). Vinyasa 1 will now be Vinyasa 1/2 and it’s moving to Tues/Thurs from 7:15 - 8:30am. For my students who have helped to push for a longer class …you did it! 🙏🏻 It IS early, but this is the rhythm your body is asking for. Movement first. Start the day in the very best way. Even if just twice a week! 😂 Looking forward to beginning my days with all of you!

Making the best of this heat wave! 🔥 The yoga practice helps! Today I taught 3 classes in the infrared room 😳. While I don’t usually practice in the hot room, I am reminded that the same principles apply: embrace stillness, breathe deeply, and slow down. One benefit I have noticed from infrared classes is that embracing the heat in that room makes the heat outside somehow more bearable. Yogi’s choice - sure, you can practice in the heat. But … just ask yourself… is that what you need right now? There is no wrong answer.

I am covering vinyasa flow 2/3 classes on Tues/Thurs Center For Yoga LA for the next few months. I always look forward to the opportunity to teach more advanced classes because I think it’s fun to build towards advanced poses and spend less time breaking things down and explaining. However, last week when one of these classes was smaller than usual, a student asked me to teach jumping to Chatturanga because that’s not something that normally gets taught in a level 2/3 class. I was happy to teach it - and I have a lot of suggestions, as I DO teach this often in my Vinyasa Flow 1 class - but it reminded me that sometimes the thing I might think isn’t needed in an advanced class is the very thing some students never got. And, while smaller class sizes might be frustrating for teachers, they are a gift for students. What’s something you practice regularly, but never really got taught? I’d love to hear - let me know in the comments!
