Today is Black Womenβs Equal Pay Day!
Black women deserve to be paid fully, fairly, and consistently for our brilliance, labor, leadership, creativity, care, and contributions. Equal pay is about more than a paycheck! It means access to rest, healthcare, therapy, safe housing, education, wealth-building, and the freedom to dream without the constant burden of financial stress.
When Black women are underpaid, our families, communities, workplaces, and futures feel the impact. When Black women are paid equitably, everyone benefits.
Today, we honor the generations of Black women who have worked, led, sacrificed, built, nurtured, organized, and excelled. This is often without receiving the compensation, recognition, or protection they deserved.
That said, we also celebrate Black girls everywhere, reminding them that their gifts are valuable, their voices are powerful, and their futures are worth investing in.
Pay equity is part of collective healing. It honors our humanity and helps create a future where Black women and girls can thriveβnot just survive.
On Black Womenβs Equal Pay Day, let's commit to closing the wage gap, advancing workplace equity, demanding pay transparency, supporting Black women's leadership, and building systems that recognize and value their contributions.
Because Black women deserve more than praise.
β₯ We deserve pay equity.
β₯ We deserve peace.
β₯ We deserve wellbeing.
β₯ We deserve abundance.
