Professional photos but authentic (AKA with some of my favorite fidgets)

Shoutout to for making photo taking a bit more bearable. These photos are the most "me" I've ever taken. It's been so healing to be able to unmask and show up authentically in professional spaces.

So excited to share this workshop with you all! October 12 at .community

Neurodivergence doesn’t need a cure, it needs care. This workshop is about rethinking therapy so it’s collaborative and affirming for Neurodivergent folks. Something we need now more than ever.

That's a wrap on Stanford Neurodiversity Summit 2025! We had the opportunity to share our findings around PDA Across the Lifespan and Co-Creating Connection for Autistic Couples. I'm feeling incredibly proud of the work my colleagues and I put together. It's always an honor to be able to share our work, but perhaps most special is the relationships formed through deep collaboration. It was so special to meet with so many virtual friends in person, and to meet new friends too!

There's nothing quite like the magic that happens when you get a group of neurodivergent people (who are all doing the same kind of work) together. It's powerful. It helps me feel emboldened to keep moving forward, to keep advocating, and to remember why this work is so important.

EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!!!!!

I’m so excited to announce I’ll be speaking on TWO panels at the 2025 Stanford Neurodiversity Summit.

One of our panels will explore the lived experience of PDA (Persistent Drive for Autotomy) Across the Lifespan. I’m so excited to work with my incredibly knowledgeable colleagues Heidi, Marni , and Molly to provide lived experience insights from a Neurodiversity affirming approach. I’m very proud to be contributing to research on PDA, something that is very needed at the moment.

I’ll also be presenting alongside as we share insights and research about Autistic romantic relationships. We’ll explore co-creating meaning and connection in relationships and the powerful results we’ve seen from a Neurodiversity affirming approach.

Screenshot and click the QR code for more info. You can register virtually for the conference for only $25!!!! And optional CEUs for clinicians as well.

On a personal note, getting to present at this conference is an absolute dream come true. Opportunities like this feel so rare and special. Feeling a lot of gratitude and awe that I get the chance to share about topics that I am so passionate about.

Hi, I’m Mady Snyder, LMFT 👋 I’m a neurodiversity-affirming therapist based in Pasadena and working virtually throughout California.
I specialize in supporting late-diagnosed neurodivergent adults and couples, with a focus on ADHD, autism, AuDHD, and PDA profiles. My approach is grounded in curiosity, collaboration, and the belief that your brain isn’t broken:it’s uniquely wired.
Whether you’re unmasking, rebuilding self-trust, or navigating complex relationships, I aim to create a space that is safe, affirming, and radically accepting.
Thanks for being here. If you’re looking for support that honors who you are, not who the world expects you to be, you’re in the right place.

What happens when two neurodiversity-affirming therapists team up to rethink couples therapy?
Spoiler: It’s a game-changer.

I’m so excited this upcoming training in partnership with and

Skylar and I have supported over a dozen clients by collaborating across cases, one working with the individual, the other with the couple or partner. This kind of collaboration is unique in private practice, and has garnered incredible results and insights that have enriched my work as a therapist. Our work together has helped us cultivate a deeply informed, neurodivergent-friendly approach to relationship therapy that actually works for Autistic and ADHD couples.

A lot of us have hard about masking, but have you heard about Camouflaging? Masking actually falls under the umbrella of camouflaging strategies. Camouflaging can be broken down into three categoreies: Masking, Compensation, and Assimilation.

Camouflaging in autism refers to the strategies autistic individuals use to adapt to a non-autistic social world, often by masking their traits or mimicking others to fit in. This can help with navigating social situations but may also lead to stress and mental health challenges. Key findings show that those with more autistic traits, especially women and girls, tend to camouflage more. Understanding camouflaging is crucial for improving support, reducing stigma, and promoting better mental health outcomes for autistic individuals.

I’m thinking of doing more content exploring the differences between Masking, Compensation, and Assimilation. Let me know what you think!

Huge thanks to for the interview and feature! To read the full interview you can click the link in my bio. Here’s an excerpt:

“I feel so much pride in what I have built, and the ways it allows me to connect with and support so many different people. My clients have expressed how much they appreciate my authentic and genuine nature as a therapist. It can feel vulnerable to be your authentic self, but I’ve found that my authenticity has been a great gift to those I work with. I try to be as much of myself as possible in the therapy room, which often involves laughter and exploring shared interests. My clients will often notice my latest pair of colorful sneakers from my collection, we might chat about a TV show we both watch (I’m a huge Survivor fan) or we’ll find ourselves in a passionate conversation about our favorite restaurants in the area (shoutout Lost Parrot Cafe!). While I am proud of the business I’ve built, I am most proud of the person I am becoming and, in turn, the relationships that have formed.“

Swipe through for a peek at my office! The space has been intentionally curated to meet the sensory needs of my clients, and my own sensory needs! I’ll be posting more content that outlines small ways I’ve designed my space to be as sensory friendly as possible. I love having a place I feel safe in, and where the folks I work with can experience safety as well.

Some simple yet impactful ways I’ve made my office sensory friendly:

1. Easy access to various sensory tools, fidgets, etc.
2. Small table top to host beverages, most of my clients enjoy tea or bring their own beverage
3. Dimmable lighting throughout (no fluorescent lighting) to meet visual sensitivity needs
4. Chemical free space, with optional 100% natural soy wax candle (I make them myself 🙂)
5. Air purifier to keep airborne space more safe and provide white noise
6. Lots of air purifying plants!
7. Weighted blankets, pillows, and couch covers for a variety of texture preferences. Also allows clients to crest space on the floor or wherever feels comfortable.
8. Tea and Snacks! Both are available for clients to meet them wherever they’re at that day. A well fed body helps us regulate.

Today was such a special one for me 💛 I got to meet some virtual friends IRL! These are the people who have been integral to my development as a therapist, and who continually remind me why I’m doing this work. So grateful for time spent with Sonny hearing about all the work Sonny has been doing to decenter Neuronormativity.

The space Sonny curated felt so incredibly safe, and filled with deep understanding and shared experiences. I’m on this continual journey of understanding the implications and societal impacts of Neuronormativity. It’s been an ongoing process of learning, questioning, deconstructing, reflecting, processing etc. I’m grateful for all of those who have graciously offered space for me in my learning.

If you haven’t already, go checkout Sonny’s new book “We’re All Neurodiverse”

Alright where my Swifties at?? Caitlin here, and I love that I have been able to “grow up” with Taylor Swift. With her recent version of “Red,” I found myself deep in my feels, reflecting on nostalgia and common humanity. Isn’t music amazing?? 🌹

I wrote down some thoughts on what I felt was therapeutically important about this album for .co and included some self-care suggestions based on the “From the Vault” songs.

Let me know in the comments which ones you feel the most connected to! My favorite song is a toss up between All Too Well (10 Minute Version) and Nothing New… I guess I need to start journaling and telling my therapist about it 😂

Social media can be a great resource to learn about mental health! It can also be a place to connect with others who’ve had similar life experiences. However, social media is not the place to diagnose yourself. Only a trained professional can help discern a diagnosis. If you feel like you really resonate with a diagnosis and social media has helped you learn more about it, reach out to a professional who can help provide information and context. Let’s stop self diagnosing, and use the information on social media to feed our curiosity without making judgements about ourselves.
