π₯ FRIEND VS MENTOR- WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?ππ»
π Mentors are experienced people who can guide you to grow in specific areas of your life. They serve as role models and support systems for making progress and questioning your beliefs. The mentees (the individuals seeking growth) need the relationship to transform the criticism and explore their own path to identify their next steps.
π Friends are people who are involved in your personal history, they know what is happening in your personal life, they create an emotional bond, an affective bond, and they feel comfortable making suggestions about what they think you should do, even with a little bit of judgment in conversations (which can lead to destructive personal relationships when boundaries are not set correctly).
ππ» In both types of relationships, personal connection and building trust are really important, but there is a big difference depending on the intention, boundaries, and expectations of the conversations.
