π Align community, this is one for the scrapbooks: we all feel anxious about public speaking, meeting strangers or interviews but having a gameplan for dealing with these situations is key. P.S. how many therapists does it take to solve such a complex problem? We used six.
β First, like Julia mentioned, ask yourself: Why does your body feel this way? What are you afraid will happen?
π€ Your mind is just trying to project you based on experiences from the past
π¬ Then, like Fidel mentioned, ask yourself: Have my worst fears or anxious thoughts actually come true in the past? If they have, how often? Probably less often than we think
π Then, like Jasmeet, Stephanie and Judy mentioned, prepare for the situation and go into it with options that help you feel safe
π Lastly, like Nazzi mentioned, come back and reflect on whether it was actually as bad as you thought it would be and note it down for next time
π― Any one of the recommendations are great but doing all of these can help you feel even more prepared and confident than you expected
ποΈ we are now accepting new clients in their 20s & 30s for online therapy in California
