A touching first for Dr. Ament and - having a recent post-op patient be so satisfied with her surgical result that she dons a t-shirt to that effect. All smiles and notable improvement in her right arm and hand weakness from severe calcifications causing actually injury to the spinal cord. This was a complex surgery performed where an entire section of the vertebra is removed (corpectomy) in order to safely reach and dissect the calcification off the spinal cord. This is all conducted under the microscope at high magnification. This is an early but very real success for a beautiful person and family that I feel blessed to know and have been part of her neurosurgical care.
