In the new ReMe Blog Series, ‘Us Offline,’ we’re having honest conversations with powerful individuals who are using social media to support their dreams. We’ll gain insight into how the modern woman can be active online and prioritize her mental health.

This week, we are chatting with Greta Kaur-Taylor. To say I was moved by this conversation would be a huge understatement. I had CHILLS. When I started this series, I was excited to hear different perspectives from around the globe about social media, a topic that impacts us all. Greta, from Leicester, England, digs into what it’s like to balance her own mental health, a growing platform, and her unwavering devotion to advocacy with the most poignant reflections.⁣

This is Greta Kaur-Taylor, Offline ☀️ A passionate and vocal music journalist, photographer, and writer. I genuinely can’t wait for you to read her message.

You ever just feel like taking a selfie? 🤷🏽‍♀️ it’s Friday, do whatever you want!!!⁣ ❤️

“Selfies mean you’re vein.”⁣
“She needs to get over herself.”⁣
“How many pics of herself does she need?”⁣

When it comes to judging photos of oneself, I’ve heard it all. The only criteria I’M worried about is if it makes YOU feel GOOD ☀️ if the answer is yes then post allllll the angles, babe! ⁣

If we notice that we’re doing it solely for the approval of others though...representing ourselves in a way we normally wouldn’t or that doesn’t feel authentic... obsessing over how many likes we’ll get and deleting it if it’s “not enough”...well then we can take those emotions as a loving sign to look inward with love and nurture to get to the root of the need. ⁣

But, hear this...if you’re looking cute and just want the internet to hype you up for a sec while you go about your day, one in which you’re prioritizing your self care inside and out? Post awayyyy ✨ I’ll hype you up every time 💋 ⁣And if you have ever posted from a place of insecurity and felt a boost from some likes, newsflash, everyone’s doing that to an extent 😅 just take care of you too, YOU DESERVE IT ❤️

Also, this throwback from last winter is an ode to the fast approaching fall 🍂 and a reminder that I’ll be bringing this hair back because it was fun and I felt good 🍯 MORE FEELING GOOD! Happy Friday, love!

How do you feel about posting selfies? What are your hang ups? ⁣

It’s easy to get so caught up in how we want other people to view us, how we want other people to THINK we are. Instead, let’s invest that time and energy into ourselves in a real, genuine way. ⁣

Put your head down, get to work, and go after what you want, for you ❤️ You don’t have to share everything with everyone, this journey is yours. ⁣
