Someone asked me a really good question about the Velvet Oracle Collection: “Is this a closed practice?”
And honestly, I’m glad they asked. 🤍
I care deeply about being respectful of Hoodoo and the traditions I practice, so I want to be really clear about what I’m offering with this collection.
Hoodoo is closed. The work is closed.
I’m not teaching people how to practice Hoodoo through these clothes, and I’m not inviting anyone into a tradition that isn’t theirs.
What I am doing is creating clothing that has been spiritually worked on my altar with specific intentions.
You’re receiving the finished work attached to the clothing, not being initiated into or practicing Hoodoo yourself.
There’s an important distinction there, and I think it’s worth talking about openly.
