It’s that time of year‼️ I’m not usually one to get political on here but as your skin coach… you better take care of yourself and vote 🗳️

No fillers. No toxin. No lasers. No threads. No surgery. No downtime. THIS is the power of just ONE MONTH of consistency.

How in the heck did we do this in such a short amount of time?

Nothing could have been done without DMK Skin Revision enzyme therapy and muscle banding. We did one of these treatments once a week for four weeks alongside a complete custom home care regimen. These treatments are like skin cardio and weight training, lifting and strengthening the tissue and its function like it used to. The body can do amazing things when put in the right state.

This is why everything I do is based off a strategy - not just random appointments. We create a personalized plan for you, your situation, your timeline, and your budget - this is not just another day spa.

If you’re new here, this isn’t wizardry - this is holistic care and personalized approach at it’s finest - make sure you follow along if you’re on a skin journey yourself 🖤

I was thinking the other day about how my passions of healing skin and metal music are like… polar opposite. But then I started thinking, well actually… skincare is pretty metal 😂🤘🏻

What’s not metal about forcing blood and oxygen to the surface of the skin??

What’s not metal about chopping off your facial hair and dead skin with a surgical scalpel??

What’s not metal about pushing gunk out of the face, or sucking it out??

Or even pulling back and tightening the muscles… it’s all pretty metal if you think about it and now I think I understand the crossover 👻🖤⚡️🪄

Halloween season is soon upon us!!

If you’re like me and prone to ingrown hairs, you’re gonna wanna give this one a read. So let’s talk about what actually happens after you wax or shave, and how you can stop the ingrowth before it happens! 🪒

Ingrown hairs are NOT usually from lack of exfoliation alone. It’s about exfoliation + lack of friction. Even with perfect exfoliation, friction is always there.

For around 48 hours after hair removal, you can think about every little follicle as an open wound; whether is wax pulling it from the root or a razor cutting at the surface, that follicle is left vulnerable. And how you treat your skin during this window determines if you’re gonna be Barbie smoothe, or fighting annoying ingrown hairs for the next few weeks.

The truth? Your underwear is usually the biggest problem. Tight, synthetic fabrics (like your favorite lace) create a ton of friction against those freshly opened follicles with every single move you make. That constant friction does two things:

1. It traps heat and moisture against the skin, creating the environment bacteria that naturally live on your skin to rapidly multiply inside those new empty follicles.

2. As the hair starts to regrow, it physically smothers the hair as it tries to grow back out - pushing it sideways or right back into the follicle instead of letting it grow up and out. This is precisely why most ingrowns happen - not just lack of exfoliation.

Going commando is the BEST thing you can do for ingrown hairs. And when you do need to wear underwear (you’re on your period, or wearing a dress) go for cotton only!

If you hate going commando usually, then do it at least for the first 48 hours after hair removal or the 48 hours when the skin gets itchy and the hair starts poking through the skin. These are the most pivotal times for when ingrowns occur.

Of course, one of the best things you can also do is come to me to get waxed so we can THIN and sparsen the hair growth. If the hair is thinner, it pokes out of the skin easier and is not as easily affected by friction!

Save this post for your next wax 🖤🪄

Don’t get me wrong - peptides are amazing. They aren’t the bad guy. The bad guy is the grey market, verifying what you’re actually injecting into your body with no long term studies to support long term use.

Might be controversial, but I find it funny that the same people who are hyping up at home injection regimens (not talking about properly prescribed ones!) are the same people who don’t vaccinate themselves or their children because of ‘lack of testing’… but that’s a topic for another time 😉
So for now, stick to using topical peptides like the wonderful Viktoria DéAnn Peptide Cosmeceuticals 🥼🩷

I want to hear your thoughts and opinions! Do you use them? Tell me everything!
