🏗️ Take a look at the latest drone footage showcasing progress across West LA VA as we expand permanent supportive housing for Veterans and work toward creating a first-of-its-kind Veteran community.

As of July 1, 2026, the campus has 729 completed permanent supportive housing units, with 359 additional units currently under construction and 37 of those opening soon. Each new development brings us one step closer to ending Veteran homelessness by providing safe, stable housing and access to the supportive services Veterans need to thrive.

This work extends beyond the West LA VA campus as well. Through the HUD-VASH program, formerly homeless Veterans are finding permanent housing in hundreds of communities throughout Greater Los Angeles.

Together, we are building more than housing — we are building opportunity, stability, and a brighter future for the Veterans who have served our nation.

A strong turnout of Veterans attended the first of two leasing events for 748 Bonsall Ave., the newest residential building at West LA VA, opening this summer!

748 Bonsall Ave. will feature 37 furnished apartments for formerly homeless Veterans, each equipped with a bedroom set, dining table, refrigerator, and stove – plus a welcome kit offering all the essentials for a new home. While open to all Veterans, this property has a particular focus on supporting women Veterans through on‑site, female‑centric and family services.

Residents will also have access to shared community spaces, including a community room, computer room, and community kitchen, along with on-site case management and supportive services.

Living on campus provides Veterans with more than just stable, affordable housing — it offers convenient access to healthcare, resources, programs, and the opportunity to build lasting connections within a supportive Veteran community. Once this building is open, there will be 766 permanent supportive housing units for Veterans on campus, with hundreds of other Veterans living at West LA in the Community Living Centers, Domiciliary, and emergency shelter programs – with many more to come.
