Did you know that the pH balance of your body plays a crucial role in maintaining good health? Maintaining a balance between alkaline and acidic is key to optimum wellness.
The terms "alkaline" and "acidic" refer to the pH ( “potential of hydrogen”) level of a substance, with pH 7 being neutral. A substance with a pH less than 7 is considered acidic, while a substance with a pH greater than 7 is considered alkaline. The scale that measures pH goes from 0 to 14.
The pH level of water is a measure of its acidity or alkalinity. Pure water has a neutral pH of 7, but natural water sources and municipal water supplies can vary in pH. Just Alkaline water doesn’t mean purity. Water filtration systems like RO (Reverse Osmosis) help to purify the water, however, after water passes through the RO system it strips the good and the bad minerals making the water acidic and practically dead. for human consumption. This is why it is necessary after RO water filtration to replenish essential multiple minerals given life back to the water. That also does not guarantee that the water will be alkaline yet. Alkalinity will be achieved through Ionization or adding alkaline minerals, such as calcium, potassium, and magnesium, increasing its pH level and making it more alkaline.
pH greater than 7 is believed by some to have health benefits, such as reducing acidity in the body and providing antioxidants. Alkaline foods, such as leafy greens, fruits and nuts, help neutralize acids and reduce inflammation. On the other hand, acidic foods, such as processed foods, dairy and meats, can disrupt the pH balance and lead to health issues.
