My life lately has been feeling quieter in some ways. More walks, slow coffees, books, journalling, oracle cards and plenty of time simply thinking about life. I’ve been asking myself a question that I think is worth asking more often: who am I becoming? I think we can spend so much time trying to create the perfect life that we forget to pay attention to the life we’re already living. Sometimes the most magical thing we can do is slow down enough to notice ourselves changing.

Never underestimate the magic of a simple dried bay leaf.
Bay was regarded as a sacred plant long before it became a part of our kitchens and for centuries it has been put to use in rituals aimed at providing protection, clarity, wisdom and intention, serving as a reminder that some of the simplest plants can become our most valuable allies.
A favourite method of mine when dealing with bay is to sit in quietness and hold the leaf in my hands for a few moments. I take deep breaths, connect with its energy and become clear as to what I am ready to invite into my life or what I am ready to let go of.
I take the time to write my intention onto the leaf and fill it with my thoughts and hopes. Once it seems like the right moment, l present it to the fire; and as the bay leaf burns, I picture my intention being set free.
The bay leaf is not what creates the magic; rather, it is the act of slowing down, setting a clear intention, and then choosing to honour that intention through ritual that is the true source of the magic. The bay leaf simply serves as a beautiful, energetic companion throughout that process.

People often ask me about my favourite magical places in Cornwall as a witch.
It’s hard to choose, because Cornwall is full of ancient stones, holy wells, wild coves, wishing trees, folklore, and places where the air feels a bit different.
Here are a few places I keep coming back to. Some draw me in with their history and folklore, others with their wild beauty and some just make my witchy heart happy.

The plants have always been teachers. They remind us to grow slowly, to honour our own cycles and to trust the wisdom that comes with each season.
When we spend time with nature, we begin to notice the quiet conversations happening all around us with the changing light, the turning leaves, the flowers blooming and resting in their own time.
My craft is rooted in connection with the land, the plants, the elements and the ancient rhythms that continue to guide us. The earth is always speaking; we simply need to slow down enough to listen.

I think we've made intuition far more complicated than it really needs to be. Instead of relying on it, we look for signs, draw another card and then ask everybody else what they think, when in fact we often know already without having to do any of that. Intuition is that quiet "no", the surprising "yes" and the path which continues to pull at you even though you can't explain why.
When people come to me for my 1:1 sessions, they often say they don't hear their intuition, but I feel we can all hear that quiet voice inside us. It hasnt disappeared; you merely need to learn how to hear her again.

Hello September. This time of year invites us to slow down, look inward and reconnect with the wisdom of the Earth. It is a season for harvest, gratitude and reflection. We can take this moment to appreciate what we have grown, let go of what we no longer need and get ready for the quieter months ahead. Trees show us that letting go is not about loss, but about being part of a natural cycle. Plants remind us that growth comes in its own time. Nature shows us that we are always connected to these rhythms. September gives us a chance to pause, listen and come back to ourselves. We can notice the magic in the changing light, the turning leaves and the wisdom that is always around us.

We are now so used to looking outside of ourselves for answers that at times we forget that there is a whole language working quietly inside us. Instead of relying on our own instincts, we ask other people for their opinions, draw another card, look for another sign, or wait for some definite occurrence to make the decision seem certain, even though all along there has been that small, continuous sense of knowing beneath the surface.
Although I really enjoy tarot, ritual, astrology and the strange coincidences that seem to happen to us at the most appropriate moments, I don't think that any of these things are meant to tell us who we are or what we should do; they act as mirrors, as doorways and as tiny flashes of magic that can help us return to ourselves.
Your intuition doesn't always come as a sudden flash; sometimes it's the thought that won't go away, the weight you feel about something that ought to be right, or the quiet attraction towards something you can't currently explain.
In my work I do, my role is not to provide you with the answers or to become another voice that you have to turn to before you can trust yourself; it is about helping you quiet down enough to hear the voice that was always yours before the world taught you to doubt it. You already possess so much of what you have been looking for. The magic lies in learning how to listen again.

Life can feel meaningful even without big milestones. For me, it’s the small things that help me stay grounded, things like enjoying a quiet coffee in the morning, sitting in the garden, living by the sea in Cornwall, taking walks with my dog, making our home cosy and spending time on the work that excites me. These simple routines help me reconnect with myself, especially when things get busy or overwhelming. I find that joy often comes from noticing the everyday moments.

know we aren't in autumn yet, but as soon as I saw the leaves on the lawn, I felt excitement. That back to school feeling, the wonder of what the new season will bring us, what will we create and change? I love this time of the year.

The wellness industry often tells us we have to embrace spirituality in a certain way. I see it differently.
Witchcraft is about connection, not buying things. Some of the most powerful magic I've done used just a mug of tea, a notebook and a candle from a craft fair. Magic doesn't have to cost a lot.
Witchcraft isn't about being perfect; it's about relationships with yourself, with the earth, with the changing seasons and with your own intuition.
If you've been waiting for the perfect moment to start your practice, remember that you already have everything you need to begin.
