Older RK procedures corrected nearsightedness by making multiple radial cuts in the cornea to flatten its shape 👁️🔬

LASIK is not a one-size-fits-all procedure 👁️🔬

Different clinics use different laser platforms, imaging systems, and surgical technologies. Modern bladeless femtosecond lasers create thinner and more precise corneal flaps, while newer excimer systems use advanced mapping and ray tracing technology to customize treatment for each eye.

As many of you know, there aren't too many surgeons in the world who feel comfortable doing this very delicate (& artistic) Surgery, and it's always great to exchange ideas with visionary Surgeons & engineers who have helped perfect the art of Corneal pigmentation surgery (both for therapeutic and cosmetic purposes).
Hung out with my new friend Frank, who is the founder & CEO of Ziemer Inc, Drs. Ferrari & Alio who are the pioneers in this field & the handful of other surgeons who are world experts in this area.
I have been waiting for the release of the newest software on my Ziemer Femtosecond Laser that allows me to make pockets that go from edge to edge (so there is no ugly brown rings around the eye). Just tried it out & it's amazing! So proud to be the only Surgeon in Beverly Hills to have this technology, which will be available in the US very very soon!
Done right, from a cosmetic standpoint, this Surgery has the potential to truly transforms the way people look! Are you ready to wake up with green/blue eyes? 😉👌🏻

Extended depth of focus lenses are designed to improve intermediate and functional near vision while maintaining strong distance clarity 👁️🔬

These lenses are inserted through extremely small incisions after being folded into a cartridge for delivery into the eye. In patients with prior RK surgery, keeping the incision small is especially important to avoid stressing older corneal cuts.

Once inside the eye, the lens gently unfolds into position and provides a smoother range of vision with reduced dependence on glasses.

Don’t worry about blinking during LASIK eye surgery! 👀👌

During surgery, a small speculum gently keeps the eyelids open so blinking is not an issue. Do not have unreasonable fears or doubts because of misconceptions you may have!
