We at Forest Lawn join people around the world in remembering Dolly Parton, an extraordinary entertainer whose warmth, humor, and generous heart made her feel like a friend to millions.

For more than six decades, she shared her remarkable gifts through unforgettable songs such as “Jolene” and “I Will Always Love You.” Always reinventing herself, Dolly brought her unmistakable spirit to movies, cookbooks, and even rock and roll, earning induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2022.

Yet perhaps her greatest legacy is the joy and kindness she shared so freely, from helping millions of children discover the wonder of reading to simply reminding us not to take ourselves too seriously. We honor a one-of-a-kind talent, a generous spirit, and a beloved American icon who made the world a little brighter. She will always be remembered with a smile.
