What do you get when you put a bunch of Muslims together?

Healthcare. Groceries. Backpacks. Tacos. 🌮

This holiday weekend in San Bernardino, we served over 400 families — health screenings, back-to-school essentials, and thousands of pounds of groceries. And while we were at it: tacos, popcorn, cotton candy, and a whole lot of community.

This is Day of Dignity. Everyone welcome, everything free, no paperwork, no proof of anything.

Big news from UMMA Health 🦷✨

We're proud to announce that Dr. Dina Mismar has been promoted to Chief Dental Officer — UMMA's first ever.

Her story is one worth knowing: she first walked through our doors as a dental school volunteer, became our Dental Director in June 2022, and has since grown our dental program to two clinic sites and launched our Mobile Dental Program, now reaching 10 elementary schools. Today, UMMA provides more than 5,300 dental visits a year.

Her next goal? Bringing dental care to Al-Shifa Clinic in San Bernardino — our first time extending services beyond county lines.

🏆 Two years. Six awards. Zero slowing down.

UMMA Health has done it AGAIN — we've earned the HRSA Gold Health Center Quality Leader Badge for the second year in a row, keeping us in the top 10% of health centers nationwide for clinical quality. 🥇

And here's the part we're most proud of: we didn't just maintain the gold standard — we grew while doing it. In 2025, we delivered preventive care at four sites. In 2026, we expanded to six, welcoming Locke and Al-Shifa to the family. More sites, more patients, more communities served — same uncompromising quality of care. 📈💪

That's a wrap on UMMApalooza! 🌻 Neighbors came through for free health screenings, kids' crafts, raffles, and a whole lot of community joy at the Fremont Wellness Center & Community Garden. Thank you South LA and thank you Molina Healthcare, L.A. Care Health Plan, Health Net, Khalsa Aid USA and Food Forward Inc. for making it all possible, and the best way to cap off National Health Center Week. Same time next year?
