After more than 30 years of caring for women and performing fibroid surgery, I recently treated a patient with a particularly complex fibroid.

Although the tumor was benign, it had grown into a difficult area—extending from the cervix toward the va**nal wall and sitting very close to important structures like the bladder, blood vessels, and the ureter (the tube that carries urine from the kidney to the bladder).

Using careful planning and advanced surgical techniques, I was able to safely remove the fibroid with a hysterectomy while protecting all surrounding organs. The surgery went smoothly, and the patient was able to go home the same day and recover comfortably.

Complex cases like this highlight why experience, precision, and individualized care are so important. Every patient deserves thoughtful attention and a surgical plan tailored specifically to her anatomy and needs.

Pelvic pain is not normal and may be a sign of an underlying condition:

Endometriosis occurs when tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, causing pain and discomfort.

Vaginismus involves involuntary muscle spasms in the va**nal walls, leading to painful in*******se.

Vulvar Vestibulitis is characterized by pain at the opening of the va**na, often during sexual activity.

Fibroids are noncancerous growths in the uterus that can cause pressure and pain.

Pudendal Neuralgia is inflammation or entrapment of the pudendal nerve resulting in pain, burning, or pressure in the path of the nerve.

Vaginal prolapse happens when pelvic organs shift out of place, causing discomfort and pressure.
