I’ve been thinking about this lately…
Maybe sometimes it’s not more sweets we’re looking for.
Maybe we’re looking for more sweetness in our lives. 💛
And I don’t mean that in a “just distract yourself from the cookie” kind of way. 😉
I love good chocolate. I enjoy dessert. And I don’t believe we need to earn our food or feel guilty for enjoying it.
But I’ve also noticed how easy it can be to reach for something sweet when what we’re really craving is something else.
A little more joy.
A little more connection.
A little more rest.
A little more fun.
A little more time to ourselves.
A little more of the things that make us feel alive.
Especially in midlife, when life can feel so full of responsibilities and change, I think we sometimes forget to ask ourselves:
“What would feel good for my soul today?”
Maybe it’s calling a friend.
Taking a walk.
Sitting outside with your coffee.
Listening to music.
Laughing until your stomach hurts.
Or simply giving yourself permission to slow down.
So the next time you find yourself reaching for something sweet, there’s no need to judge yourself.
Just pause for a moment and ask:
“What else might I be hungry for?” 💛
And then, of course… if you still want the chocolate?
Enjoy the chocolate. 😉
What would add a little more sweetness to your life right now?
