NAD+ might be the most important molecule you've never thought about. ⚡
What it does:
🔋 Energy: it's a coenzyme your mitochondria need to turn food into usable energy (ATP).
🧬 Repair: enzymes that help repair DNA (PARPs) consume NAD+.
🧭 Signalling: sirtuins, proteins linked to metabolism and cellular stress responses, depend on it.
What changes with age:
Studies in human tissue show NAD+ levels decline with age, partly because an enzyme called CD38 that breaks it down increases.
Evidence check ✅❓
✅ Human studies show NAD+ precursors can raise blood NAD+ levels.
❓ Whether that translates into better health outcomes is still being studied, and results so far are mixed.
That's why we approach NAD+ the evidence-first way: with a physician, clear goals and tracking.
