Attachment parenting isn’t the best form of parenting-to create lasting relationships as an adult:
Tell me I’m wrong. 🤷🏽♀️💜
I don’t just want to raise a child who listens, follows rules, gets good grades, and becomes a productive member of society.
I want to raise a human being who is emotionally balanced, securely attached, and WHOLE.
A child who grows into an adult who:
💜Knows how to express and regulate his emotions.
💜Can communicate his needs without shame.
💜Understands his strengths, weaknesses, and vulnerabilities.
💜Can give AND receive love fully.
💜Knows how to navigate conflict without withdrawing or emotionally abandoning someone.
💜Doesn’t mistake emotional unavailability for masculinity or codependency for love.
💜Can experience deep intimacy without losing himself.
Because the relationship we cultivate with our children becomes one of their earliest blueprints for what LOVE feels like.
As a mother raising a son, this is particularly important to me.
I don’t want my son growing into a man who believes suppressing his emotions makes him masculine. I want him grounded enough in himself to be vulnerable, compassionate, emotionally available, communicative, and capable of building a healthy relationship with his future partner.
Attachment parenting isn’t about raising dependent children. It’s about creating enough emotional SECURITY that they feel confident becoming independent.
We aren’t just raising children. We’re raising somebody’s future husband, wife, partner, mother, or father.
And the way we love them today can influence how they experience love tomorrow.
Attachment parenting isn’t about keeping our children attached to us forever. It’s about giving them the security to eventually FLY. 🦋
Tell me I’m wrong.
