If a doctor has confirmed it's a lipoma, you often don't need to do anything at all. Most are harmless fatty growths that you can leave exactly where they are. But a few signs mean it's worth getting checked sooner rather than later.

When it's usually fine to just watch it:
It's soft, movable, painless, small and not getting in your way.

When removal is worth considering:
It hurts, presses on a nerve, limits your movement, catches on clothing, keeps growing, or you simply don't like how it looks.

When you shouldn't wait:
