In a new feature by Laura Elizabeth Lansdowne of Technology Networks, Dr. Parkinson shares his perspective on the future of cancer drug development, from advances in cancer biology and genomic sequencing to AI and emerging technologies that are enabling more precise, targeted therapies.

Please join us in welcoming Lily Dara to the Institute as our newest Member Scientist!

A physician-scientist, hepatologist, and Associate Professor of Medicine at USC’s Keck School of Medicine, Dr. Dara brings world-class expertise in drug-induced liver injury and will play a key role in advancing our drug development pipeline. Working alongside our research teams, she'll help us better understand how and why certain medicines can affect the liver, generating insights that will support the development of safer and more effective cancer treatments.

We're excited to have Dr. Dara on board and look forward to the contributions she'll make as we work to improve the lives of patients everywhere.

The future of cancer research starts here.

We're excited to welcome the 2026 Ellison Junior Scholars: an inspiring group of rising high school seniors beginning a three-week immersive program at the Institute 🎉

Over the coming weeks, they'll work alongside our researchers and clinicians, explore advances in oncology and AI-driven medicine, and gain firsthand insight into the collaborative process of scientific discovery.

The program kicked off with a white coat ceremony, where scholars heard reflections from alumni, learned about the journey ahead from program director Dr. Kian Kani, and received a warm welcome from our Founding CEO, Dr. David Agus.
