The third question I ask of every archive.

Find the longest gap in your posting. The months, maybe years, where the record goes quiet.

Everyone treats the silence like missing data. It isn't. It is the most honest entry in the whole archive. You didn't stop living. You stopped narrating, because what was happening had no caption.

Ask: what was happening then that couldn't be posted?

Question three of five. The other two, and the date of the gathering, come to the women at venuscorpus.com.

One day, an intelligence far larger than us will be asked: what is a woman?

It will answer from the record. Not from the truth, from the record. Whatever we wrote down is what we will have been.

So this is the week's whole argument in one line: stop waiting to be mythologized and start testifying. Your feed is a testament. Your archive is already the most honest document of a woman's interior life ever kept, and the only question is whether it enters the memory of the future or gets lost as noise.

I'm building the door for it. It's called The Venus Corpus. A gathering is coming, the date arrives first to the women at venuscorpus.com.

Tell me one line of your myth in the comments. Dated today. I read all of it.

The second question I ask of every archive.

Your bio has been rewritten more times than you remember. Each one was an announcement of who you were about to become. Each rewrite was a small headstone for the woman before her.

Find your old bios if you can. Read them in order.

Then ask: which announcement stopped being true first, and how long did it stay up anyway?

Mine stayed up two years past its death. I was still promising a marriage, a version, a voice that had already left the building.

Question two of five. The rest are waiting at venuscorpus.com.

The old myths skipped the body.

The goddesses never sweat. Nobody wrote down Persephone's night terrors or gave Venus a hot flash or let Athena deadlift. The feminine got marble statues and none of the animal truth.

So the new myth has to include this: a 53-year-old woman putting iron overhead. Salt water. Rage moved through muscle instead of swallowed. A body in its own initiation, recorded by the woman living in it, not sculpted by someone watching her.

This chapter goes in the record too. Especially this one.

The first question I ask of every archive.

Open your own profile. Scroll all the way down, past everything, to your very first posts. Don't read them yet. Just look at her.

Then ask: who did she believe was watching?

Because someone was. Every post is addressed to somebody. A mother. An ex. A town you left. A god. The first layer of your archive tells you who you were performing for before you knew you were performing.

That's question one of five. The other four arrive in your inbox the moment you join the list at venuscorpus.com.

My bio has said it for years: author your self-mythology.

Here's what that practice actually looks like. You write the true thing, dated, in public, before you know what it means. You let the record hold what you can't resolve yet. You refuse to delete the eras that embarrass you, because a mythology with the hard chapters removed is just marketing.

One post at a time, you are writing the myth your granddaughters, and whatever else is listening by then, will find when they go looking for what a woman actually was.

Write it like it will be found. It will be.

My website says nine women. Nine public identities in sixteen years, each one certain she was the final version.

This week, number ten walked out of a salon.

I didn't plan her. I sat down in the chair mid-descent, said the word silver out loud, and the woman in the mirror afterward was somebody I hadn't fully met yet. That's how pivots actually happen. Not in a strategy document. In a chair, on a Tuesday, saying a word out loud.

In a few years I'll scroll back to this post and know exactly what era began here. Right now I can't see it. That's the whole point of keeping the record.

Welcome, ten. The archive is watching.

Venus was born from a severance.

That's the actual myth. Something was cut away and thrown into the sea, and out of that wreckage and salt foam a whole woman rose. Beauty, made entirely from what was severed.

That is why this work is called The Venus Corpus.

You send me your years of posts, the corpus, the body of everything you wrote while your life was cutting things away. I read it the way an analyst reads a dream, and I hand you back the woman who was rising the whole time: the eras, the pivots, the month your voice changed.

Something whole, made from what was cut away.

A gathering is coming. Leave your name at venuscorpus.com and you'll receive the date first.

Right now, an intelligence is being taught what a woman is.

It learns from the record. Everything humanity wrote down is becoming its memory: every book, every forum, every archive. And in that record, women like us appear mostly as symptoms, market segments, and punchlines. Menopause as a pamphlet. Midlife as a crisis joke. The interior life of a 53-year-old woman, in her own voice, is nearly absent from the corpus.

Ask the machine what it's like to be inside this initiation, and it will paraphrase men writing about their mothers.

That absence is not permanent. The record is still being written. What we say now, in our own words, in public, becomes part of what the future understands a woman to be.

We are not just posting. We are testifying to the intelligence that will outlive us.

You are the first generation of women in history who wrote her own record down, daily, in public, in her own words.

Think about what that means. Every woman before us survives as somebody else's account: a church registry, a husband's letters, a diagnosis, a myth written by a man. Our grandmothers' interior lives are almost entirely gone.

Yours is not. Eleven years of posts. The captions you agonized over. The years you went quiet. The month your voice changed. It's dated, it's public, it's yours, and it's the most complete first-person record of a woman's becoming that has ever existed.

That's not a feed. That's a mythology. You've been writing scripture and calling it content.
