I experienced the best workout I've had in two years today.

When I was done my eyes began to water.

It wasn't the pain or the fatigue, but the experience of choosing myself for the first time in so long that was overwhelming.

I am with my babies all day and it is nothing short of a blessing to be home with them.

It is also incredibly consuming and leaves little time unaccounted for.

I have found that the hardest part about being a parent can be preserving your humanity.

The pressure to be an exceptional parent can leave you an under nourished individual.

The feeling you have when you leave your children with other people to create space for your individual needs can be ridden with .

I was reminded that relearning to choose myself after having children is central to my joy.

I can not fear inconveniencing others in the process of preserving myself.

I can not shrink my needs even for the children as they require the healthiest and happiest version of me.

So proud of myself and grateful for my husband for inviting me.

I needed that permission.

My favorite part of supporting birthing people is that when you support an individual the love spreads to the entire family unit.

Communication improves.

Boundaries are fostered.

We aid in the development of the family unit.

This is a gentle reminder for all birthing people to tend to self.

The more nurturing you offer to yourself. The greater support you can be for those around you.

P.S. I passed my 3 hour glucose test đź’› thanks for all the kind words and testimonies. We are grateful for our health.

Sometimes therapists have to practice what they preach.

As much as I love to talk about the joys that pregnancy brings I have to take a moment to address the very real stressors that the medical element of pregnancy brings.

In my pregnancy with my daughter and now with my current pregnancy, I read high on my 1-hour glucose test.

These tests are intended to ensure you don’t have , and in my case to ensure that It will be safe for me to have an out-of-hospital birth.

I’ve been privileged enough to never have dealt with any major medical issues in the past.

Consequentially, like many anytime there’s anything wrong with me medically my anxiety is triggered.

The first time I was tasked with checking my blood sugar via finger pricking this brought me pretty low.

This time I was mentally prepared for this test, changed my diet significantly and was ultimately disappointed again by the result.

Upon hearing of the potential to risk out of care I began to experience catastrophic thinking, fear, and worry about what a would look like for me.

As a therapist, I recognized the need to practice what I preach. When I had a moment to myself I audibly reassured myself that it would be okay. I was reminded that this is an opportunity to acknowledge what is in and outside of my control. I gave myself time to be in my distressed feelings and then decided enough is enough.

I don’t know how my test is going to go and I’m sure I will be impacted significantly by the results for better or for worst, but I share this because is complicated and managing emotions is a human experience that we share.

After lunch numbers looking alright👌🏾.

Expansion is upon me.

I’ve been feeling behind on sharing but I realize I’m right on time.

This time has allowed me the opportunity release my attachments to outside perspectives.

This time has given space for intentionality about the energies I absorb surrounding this new baby and my family.

This time has reminded me to be comfortable and confident in my journey as it is uniquely mine.

When was the last time you actively trusted the timing of your life?

Tranquility is mine all 2022

This year has been filled with major shifts.

I’ve expanded my family, my business, and my dreams.

When working with high rewards, high anxiety can follow.

With my blessings I am claiming tranquility and a sense of ease as I navigate this season.

Hey Village,

Happy Winter Solstice ❄️

At this stage of Post Partum I’ve been thinking a lot about foods and the way I want to teach my daughter how to nourish herself.

This smile was brought to you posts a Farmer’s Market trip. One of the many ways I’m focusing on keeping Whole Foods in my diet.
