TLC Pediatric Therapy Occupational & Speech Therapy
Inspired by Childhood | Supported by Evidence | Delivered w/ Compassion

TLC Pediatric Therapy is a family-focused community based organization serving the individual needs of children with developmental needs throughout Los Angeles County. TLC Pediatric Therapy provides Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy services through comprehensive evaluations and evidence-based intervention to achieve significantly improved outcomes. Our treatment philosophy includes combined methods of the Greenspan Floortime Approach, and Behavioral Play Therapy, in order to maximize developmental opportunities within both a structured and natural environment. Models utilized in order to increase efficacy within this approach include SCERTS (Social Communication, Emotional Regulation, Transactional Support), and the Hanen Center’s It Takes Two to Talk programming; an evidence-based parent empowerment program, that educates parents to carryover skills across their child’s home and community activities. We look forward to connecting with you to discuss how we can support you, and your child. Please contact us at [email protected] to schedule a phone consultation so that we can better understand your needs and offer solutions.

🌟 Introducing Our August 360 Wellness Theme: Taste of Farmer’s Market! 🌟

We’re thrilled to kick off our “Taste of Farmer’s Market” theme this August! 🍅🥬🥕 Join us as we celebrate the abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables from our local farmers while exploring the joys of growing your own food right here in the beautiful Southern California sunshine! ☀️

Whether you have a small patio or a cozy kitchen corner, it only takes a little space to nurture herbs or vegetables. With a little water, sunshine, and care, you’ll be amazed at what can grow! 🌱

Just a few benefits of gardening with kids:

1. Stress Relief & Mental Well-Being
Spending time outdoors and connecting with nature has been shown to reduce stress and improve mood. Gardening provides a calming, hands-on activity that supports overall mental health.

2. Environmental Awareness
Gardening helps children understand the importance of caring for the environment. As they learn where food comes from, they also discover the important role plants play in our ecosystem and the value of sustainability.

3. Healthy Eating Habits
Children are often more excited to try fruits and vegetables they’ve helped grow. Gardening is a fun way to encourage healthy eating while fostering curiosity and confidence.

We will be sharing tips and techniques to help you and your family embrace healthy nutrition while incorporating this theme into therapeutic activities with your kiddos. We have so much planned to weave this theme into our language and sensory therapy planning.

Stay tuned for more wellness tips, and join us on this delicious journey! 😋🍏🥬

A little Friday joy from life at TLC ☀️☺️🧡

These are the moments that make our culture what it is, learning together, celebrating one another, sharing a few laughs, and finding joy in the work we do.

Here’s to the TLC’ers who bring the knowledge, the heart, and the fun every day.

A day in the life at TLC looks different by design.

In pediatric therapy, burnout is often treated like the cost of doing meaningful work.

Back-to-back sessions. Documentation late into the evening. Meetings that could have been a message. Somewhere along the way, the field began to accept that caring deeply for children had to mean exhausting the people who care for them.

At TLC, we reject that idea.

Fun is not something we add to make a difficult job tolerable. It is what thoughtful systems make possible.

When workflows are clear, documentation is manageable, and schedules are built by people who understand what a full caseload actually feels like, there is room left over.

Room for a wellness session before the day begins.
Room to celebrate a birthday.
Room for a case discussion to run a little longer because the conversation is meaningful.
Room to connect, learn, laugh, and still do excellent work.

That is not indulgence. It is intentional design.

And it shows up where it matters most: in how present, supported, and energized our team can be for the children and families we serve.

Culture is not created by events alone. It is created by how the work is built—every single day.

This is life at TLC.

At TLC, we use the BRIDGE™ Framework because no family should feel like they have to figure it all out alone.

Too often, families are left carrying the weight of disconnected care, trying to make sense of different recommendations, repeating the same information, and wondering how to best support their child between appointments.

BRIDGE™ was created to change that.

It brings children, families, and professionals together around shared goals that matter in everyday life, so care feels more connected, more supportive, and more meaningful.

Because some of the most important developmental moments do not happen in isolation or only during a therapy session. They happen at home, in daily routines, and in the small moments families live every day.

At TLC, we believe progress is strongest when families feel supported, empowered, and truly part of the team.

Swipe through to learn how BRIDGE™ began and why connected care matters so deeply to us.

💦 ☀️Summer days often mean more time around pools, beaches, sprinklers, and water play.

As part of our July theme, Fun in the Sun, we’re sharing a few simple reminders to help families enjoy those moments as safely as possible.

For young children, especially children who may be drawn to water or have a harder time recognizing danger, a little extra preparation can make a big difference.

Stay close, use properly fitted life jackets🦺🛟, check gates and barriers, and keep safety rules simple and consistent. It also helps to practice those rules before the fun begins and always remember to stay hydrated throughout the day.

We know water safety can feel like a lot to think about, but it doesn’t have to be complicated. Small, intentional steps can help children feel more confident while giving parents and caregivers greater peace of mind.

Save this post for your next water day, and share it with another family who may find it helpful. 💙

☀️ We’re soaking up the rest of July with our monthly theme: Fun in the Sun!

As summer continues, we’re highlighting simple ways to help children stay safe, cool, and comfortable while enjoying the season.

From staying hydrated and taking breaks from the heat to choosing hydrating foods, using sun protection, and recognizing signs of heat exhaustion, small habits can make a big difference. 💧🍉🧢

Save this post for your next sunny day, and share it with a parent, caregiver, or educator!

🎵 Wrapping Up June Tunes 2026 🎵

As we close another incredible month of June Tunes, we’re reminded of where it all began.

Nearly a decade ago, one remarkable little girl forever changed the way we viewed the power of music in early intervention.

As a toddler participating in care at TLC, music became the tool that unlocked her communication. Through speech and language therapeutic ideas, relationship-centered approaches, and music-based activities, our interdisciplinary providers witnessed extraordinary growth week after week. Music supported the development of every area of language - from vocabulary (semantics) and sentence development (syntax) to speech sound production, articulation, and phonological organization.

What once seemed like isolated developmental challenges began coming together beautifully.

By her third birthday, her communication skills had improved into the typical range, and she no longer required speech-language therapy.

Her journey became the inspiration for what would eventually grow into our 360 Themes Program, beginning with June Tunes in 2017.

Every June, our team celebrates the incredible role music plays in helping children connect, communicate, learn, and thrive. Through artwork, team challenges, family activities, and clinical collaboration, we honor the child who reminded us that joyful, evidence-informed therapy can change the trajectory of a life.

Thank you to every member of the TLC team who participated this month, and congratulations to our June Tunes contest winner, Josh! Also, a very special thank you to Siroug for coordinating this month’s Wellness Wednesdays.

Together, we’re not just celebrating music or our themes, we’re celebrating possibility.
