It’s been a minute since a shared any “coaching-esq” content but this question has been such a guiding light the last 6 months while I move through a challenging season.

I feel like it is so powerful that it should be classified as a “life hack” and it’s one of the best ones I got 😂 so I hope it helps you too!

Try it out the next time you’re unsure or confused about how to move forward, and see what opens up for you 🤎

Also in other excited news, is on the podcast, Love Your Bod Pod today.

We talk about romanticizing your ED, body image, motherhood, purity culture overlaps with diet culture, how to free yourself from shame, breathwork and so much more!

“You deserve a partnership where you can relax and be your whole self. A partner who loves and accepts you fully. So does believing you have to diet and change yourself to find a relationship the best strategy to find the type of relationship you most desire? Or are you objectifying yourself in th...

It’s cliché but it’s not *really* about the food.

And a continued focus on the food or which diet/lifestyle to try next will just keep you in the same loop.

If you want freedom from binge eating, emotional eating, and other disordered behaviors, look for the positive intention those behaviors might have.

What is the food obsession covering up?

What’s the function and purpose the behaviors serve?

What are they trying to protect you from?

What are they helping you avoid or escape?

By understanding and addressing *that* instead of thinking you just need more willpower or control or a new diet to try, you will find the solution to your problem with food.

And this is exactly what I help my clients do.

DM me to learn more about coaching. 1:1 spots are open again!

Letting go of dieting and restriction is *kinda like* detoxing from a drug addiction.

All the painful thoughts, feelings and emotions you tried to avoid by shrinking your body will come up

And it often feels horrible, just like the withdraw symptoms from a drug.

A big part of you will want to go back to dieting to avoid feeling all the things, just a drug user might want to use again to avoid the painful withdrawal symptoms

but the only way to heal from your addiction to dieting (aka avoiding your inner world by shrinking your outer body) or a drugs is to go through the painful detox period.

you have to feel those uncomfortable feelings and emotions,

➡️ look at them, process them, be with them, feel them, and heal from them.

That’s how you stop hating your body & self and making everything be about your weight.

The only way out is through.

And at Food Body Soul - a the Retreat you will be supported through the process of all those emotions of body shame and hate so you can finally feel body peace and acceptance.

This was getting so much love in my stories I decided to give it a permanent spot on the feed 💫

This quote is from my yoga teacher, Daveed. He shared it last night while we were in Shavasana and it really spoke to me - In general, but also about healing your relationship with food and your body.

The constant fear and worry of what others are thinking are heavy. And it's gasoline to the fire of our eating disorders. We try to control our weight so we can control other people's opinions of us (among other things)…

And it's exhausting.

Play with me for a few moments (or maybe longer in your journal) and ponder how you'd live your life if...

you no longer cared as much about people's opinions of:
your body,
your weight,
your clothing,
your job,
who you love,
what you love,
where you came from,
where you're going,

and you instead followed your intuition, your truth, your inner knowing, above all else.

How might your life be different? What choices might you start making? Who would you become through this process of liberation?

Share with me below - what's one thing you would do differently if you weren't held back by the opinions of others?
