Most affairs start with unspoken struggles: intimacy issues, financial stress, unmet needs.
But avoiding honesty only creates more pain. Cheating doesn’t fix the problem. It traumatizes your partner. No one deserves that. Talk about it. Get help. Don’t destroy what could be repaired.

After 25 years as a therapist, I’ve seen how easy it is to overlook the most important signs in early dating.

A lot of people focus on chemistry or charm, but those aren’t what make a relationship work long-term.

The green flags I tend to look for? Someone whose words match their actions, someone who shows up consistently, and someone who respects your boundaries.

Lack of intimacy is real, but the answer is getting curious, having the hard conversations, and actually working on the root issue, not stepping outside the relationship.

Cheating doesn’t fix anything. It creates deeper damage. Not only for your partner but for the whole family.

And if nothing changes, then leave with honesty and integrity.

If you’re dealing with the aftermath of infidelity and don’t know where to start, .

Letting go of something that isn’t right for you can still hurt.
That doesn’t mean you made the wrong choice.
It means you cared. And that’s okay.
You can feel grief, sadness, and heartbreak while still standing by your decision.

The right relationship feels consistent, not chaotic. Reliable communication, steady effort, and no rollercoaster of emotions.
