Happy Grandparents' Day 💚

Grandparents have a special way of shaping our lives.

They're the storytellers, the teachers, the cheerleaders, and the keepers of family traditions. They remind us where we've been, help us appreciate where we are, and inspire the generations that follow.

Today, we celebrate the grandparents who continue to make memories with us—and we lovingly remember those whose legacy lives on through the stories, values, and love they shared.

🌿 Here's to the grandparents who helped make us who we are.

Deeply devoted and unexpectedly tender — Johnny Cash found greatest comfort in family and gospel music.

Today we're featuring Johnny Cash, who passed away on this day, September 12, 2003.

His funeral was a private service held at First Baptist Church in Hendersonville, Tennessee, attended by close family and friends alongside a number of fellow musicians who came to pay their respects. He was laid to rest at Hendersonville Memory Gardens beside his wife, June Carter Cash, who had passed away just four months earlier — the two are remembered as inseparable in life and now in death.

✨His legacy reminds us that even our toughest icons are often defined, in the end, by who they loved and who loved them back.

Behind the saint revered around the world stood a woman who made people laugh and offered unshakable warmth.

Today, we're featuring Mother Teresa, who passed away on this day, September 5, 1997.

She greeted the poorest of the poor with the same tenderness she showed kings and presidents, and she found humor and joy even amid profound suffering.

Mother Teresa's funeral was a state funeral held in Kolkata, India. Her body lay in repose for a week so hundreds of thousands of mourners could pay their respects. The funeral procession retraced the same route used for Mahatma Gandhi's funeral decades earlier. She was laid to rest at the Missionaries of Charity Mother House, where her tomb remains a place of pilgrimage for people of all faiths to this day.

Her legacy reminds us that even those who become symbols were, first, simply people — shaped by small acts of kindness long before the world took notice.
