Emergency room billing can feel confusing, especially for college students managing healthcare away from home.

Dorkus, Patient Access Supervisor, shares helpful information about understanding your bill, asking questions, and working with our team after an emergency room visit.

At Star ER, our patient access team is available to help students and families better understand the billing process so they can focus on what matters most: getting the care they need.

A common question we hear is, “Can Star ER treat a heart attack?”

Yes. Our freestanding emergency rooms can evaluate chest pain, perform EKG and laboratory testing, begin emergency treatment, stabilize patients, and coordinate hospital transfer when a higher level of care is needed.

If you experience chest pressure or pain, shortness of breath, sweating, nausea, dizziness, or pain spreading to your arm, back, neck, or jaw, seek emergency care immediately.

Do not drive yourself. Call 911 or have someone take you to the nearest emergency room. Star ER is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
