With the extreme amount of rainfall causing flooding, washouts, and damage in the area, please remember cemeteries are not exempt from the effects of this severe weather.

Excessive rain can cause unusual settling, displaced flowers or decorations, and other ground disturbances, especially in low-lying areas, near drainage paths, on hillsides, or at recently interred graves.
While some settling is a natural part of the burial process, the extraordinary amount of rain may increase these conditions.

Moments Funeral Home is aware of some gravesites that may need assistance. We are actively addressing these concerns and working hard to ensure the integrity of any affected sites.

If you notice significant settling, washouts, or other concerns, please contact the cemetery caretaker or funeral home for guidance with questions on the appropriate steps to address the issue.

One thing many of us could remove from our lives is unnecessary division, the habit of focusing on what separates us instead of what unites us. As we celebrate Flag Day today, we’re also reminded that one flag can represent millions of individuals, each with unique backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences, yet connected by shared ideals and a common future. By choosing respect, understanding, and unity over division, we honor what the flag stands for and strengthen the bonds that bring communities and the nation together. 🇺🇸
As Ephesians 4:3 reminds believers, “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace,” a call to seek unity while valuing the uniqueness of every individual.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s Flag Retirement ceremony. Special thank you to Stephen for leading the event and Miss. Hadley for leading the National Anthem. We received over 130 flags to be properly and respectfully retired. 🇺🇸
See you all next year at the Lucedale location!

The United States Code stipulates,
"When a U.S. flag is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, it should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning."
