There has been a confirmed case of measles in Buckingham county and suspected community spread. It is recommended that people who live in Buckingham county or visit frequently be up to date on their MMR vaccine. Additionally, it is recommended that infants 6-11 months old who live in Buckingham county get an early MMR dose and children 12 months or older who have had one dose should get there second dose early - at least 28 days from their first.

If you feel like you might have been exposed or are symptomatic please contact your local health department for next steps.
