Myth: Cataracts only happen to people in their 80s.
Fact: Age-related cataracts often start forming in your 50s and 60s.

Myth: They have to be "ripe" before anything can be done.
Fact: According to Dr. Wong, timing today is based on how much your vision affects daily life.

Myth: A new glasses prescription will fix it.
Fact: It can help early on, but it can't clear a clouding lens.

Think you might need cataract surgery? It doesn't start in an operating room. It starts with an evaluation.

Here's how it works at MEC: Dr. Wong checks how far your cataracts have progressed and whether they're affecting your daily life. If surgery makes sense, we refer you to a surgeon we work with closely. After surgery, you come back to us for your follow-up care and new prescription.
