Memorial Day Closures

All BMH outpatient clinics and pharmacies are closed today, Monday May 25, 2026. As always, our Emergency Department and hospital services remain open 24/7.

On behalf of the entire BMH Family, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage and selflessness will never be forgotten.

Today, we had the pleasure of celebrating EMS Week by recognizing the incredible EMS professionals who serve our communities with dedication, compassion, and courage every single day. ❤️🚑

To show our appreciation, we hosted a cookout with hot dogs and hamburgers as a small thank-you for all they do behind the scenes and on the front lines of emergency care.

Thank you to our EMS teams for your commitment to keeping our communities safe and cared for. We appreciate you not only during EMS Week, but every day.

Today’s “How to Live a Fruitful Life” Lunch & Learn was an incredible afternoon of growth, inspiration, and community connection at Market on Main! 🍎✨

A huge thank you to Jim Strawn for sharing his knowledge, insight, and encouragement with both our community members and Boone Memorial Health employees. Your message on emotional intelligence, leadership, and personal growth truly made an impact on everyone in attendance.

BMH President and CEO Virgil Underwood welcomed students participating in Boone Memorial Health’s 2026 Summer Student Program today, as dozens of high school students, recent graduates, and college students begin paid summer positions across the health system.

Each year, BMH hires approximately 30–40 students for hands-on summer roles designed to provide real-world healthcare experience while helping students explore future career paths in medicine, nursing, allied health, administration, and other healthcare professions. Programs of this size and scope are uncommon among rural hospitals, making BMH’s Summer Student Program one of the largest paid hospital-based student workforce initiatives in the state.

From shadowing clinical teams to supporting hospital operations, these students gain meaningful experience inside a real healthcare environment while building skills that will serve them throughout their education and careers. More importantly, programs like this help strengthen West Virginia’s future healthcare workforce by creating early pathways for students to learn, grow, and hopefully return to serve their communities!
