Mother’s Day can bring a wide range of emotions β€” love, gratitude, sadness, anger, numbness, longing, relief, or all of them at once. Grief has a way of showing up quietly in moments others may not notice.

Today, I’m holding space for:
β€’ Those missing their mother
β€’ Mothers grieving the death of a child
β€’ People navigating motherhood without their own mom beside them
β€’ Those experiencing infertility, pregnancy loss, or estrangement
β€’ Children and teens carrying grief today
β€’ Anyone who finds this day complicated or painful

You do not have to force celebration to honor love.
You do not have to β€œbe okay” because it’s a holiday.
And you are not alone in whatever this day brings up for you.

Grief and love often sit side by side.

You do not have to force a celebration to honor love.

This is your final opportunity to register for Healing Strides β€” and we'd love to have you with us.

This spring session is the only one being offered this year, and we kick off on Monday, April 13th at 5:30pm. For seven weeks, we'll meet weekly until our goal race on May 30th in Albany.

Each two-hour session is split into two parts: the first hour is a grief group centered on mindfulness and continuing bonds, and the second hour we train together for a 5K we'll all cross the finish line on β€” alongside our volunteer mentors who are with you every step of the way.

All fitness levels are welcome. Some participants walk, some walk/run, and some run β€” there's truly a place for everyone here.

This is your final opportunity to register for Healing Strides β€” and we'd love to have you with us.

This past weekend I had the honor of facilitating a after death connection retreat for 6 grieving individuals with my friend and colleague, April Hannah. This was our third retreat we have hosted at Silver Bay YMCA. Each retreat is different with different energy and experiences but each retreat highlights the value of community when you are grieving. We tend to grieve alone because others don't get it or don't know how to show up to someone grieving. Each retreat our participants are brave and vulnerable, knowing their grief is valid and its a safe place to openly share about their loved ones and feel supported by others who get it. Each retreat is magical and I'm beyond grateful to be able provide this opportunity to help support grieving individuals on their grief journey. We have an amazing group of volunteer reiki practitioners, a yoga practitioner and my intern, Michelle who joined us this weekend. Their presence and support of the participants is amazing and we couldn't do it without them.. I'm beyond grateful for each one of them.
