🎉Happy National Veterinary Technician Week!🎉

While we’ve highlighted just a few of the many responsibilities and skills of veterinary nurses this week, it is important to talk about something else they bring to the table, heart & personality.

The nurses at VRC work with their hands and their hearts, they treat each patient as if they were their own pets. They provide kind calm words to both stressed pets and their parents. They give cuddles and affection to patients who need it.

The work that we do is difficult, it can be taxing physically, emotionally, mentally, and beyond. Throughout the hard days we lean on each other, we support each other, and we make each other laugh.

VRC is beyond grateful for this nursing team ❤️ Happy Tech Week!

Veterinary Technicians are responsible for safely administering and monitoring anesthesia. Our nurses interpret vitals signs and parameters during anesthetic events, intervene when necessary, and guide their patients throughout the recovery process safely.

The skills and knowledge these nurses have ensure your pet’s safe anesthetic journey, wether a quick sedation, or an intensive surgery, our nurses are always there and watching. 👀

🎊Happy National Veterinary Technician Week!!🎊

Let’s talk about blood 🧛🏻‍♂️🩸
Blood transfusions are a critical, life-saving treatment in veterinary medicine used to stabilize patients. Transfusions may be used in cases of severe trauma, anemia, or clotting and bleeding disorders. Because there is no artificial substitute for blood in animals, veterinary medicine relies on blood donation programs.

Our nurses have the skills to not only perform a safe, sterile blood donation and collection from a sedated patient, but also the knowledge and skills to administer a blood transfusion along with monitoring for adverse events.

Our nurses are truly amazing; we appreciate the knowledge, care, and skills they bring everyday.

VRC offers many specialties to pets and their parents; Emergency, Cardiology, Diagnostic Imaging, Dentistry, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Physical Rehabilitation, and Surgery.

The technicians in each of these departments bring a set of ever-growing specialized skills they use every day to aid the doctors of their department. These technicians are masters of their craft.

Veterinary nurses do so many things to provide care and support to the veterinary team.

Our technicians can rapidly triage incoming patients, prioritizing care based on medical emergencies. They perform initial assessments and obtain vital signs along with diagnostics doctors may need to provide life-saving care when it counts most.

Our nurses are such an important part of our team, we are grateful for them always, but especially this week!
