This week's Saturday Spotlight goes to,
Jean Dodge
Jean was born and raised in Rochester, NH, alongside her sister, Betty. She met her husband, Ken Dodge, at Spaulding High School, where they both graduated in 1952. They married on January 28, 1956, while Ken was completing his final year at the university of New Hampshire.
Over the following 13 years, Ken's service in the U.S. Air Force took the family to several locations across the country before they settled permanently in Manchester, NH. There, they raised three children as Ken established a successful career in the insurance industry. After staying home with their children during their school years, Jean joined Ken's business and served as his full-time secretary for 28 years until his passing in 2006.
Throughout their marriage, they enjoyed summers at Lake Winnipesaukee with family and friends and traveled extensively around the world.
Following Ken's passing, Jean remained in their home of 26 years and stayed active in her church and with family activities. An avid knitter, she and her church church group have donated hundreds of handmade blankets, hats, and scarves to local organizations. Jean also enjoys reading, playing games, and staying connected with her family, which now includes seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren located across the country.
