Thank you everyone for being here for us in our time of mourning, while our hearts are broken we have to remember to celebrate the life we lost, and rejoice in knowing the new life he has gained.
We will reflect on the good. The loving husband, the protective joking pappaw, supportive brother and the steady friend he was.
We will never see a pair of bibs, an old western playing, a hayfield with a tractor in it, or a pack of Winston’s without thinking of you.
You set the example of what a husband, father, an a human should be. The traits that’s you have passed on will live on through your children, grand children, and generations to come. It’s been the honor of our life to be able to call you ours.
There was a side to Floyd Woods that many didn’t get to see, but he was our emotional rock during some of the hardest parts of our life. He was a man who didn’t care who you were or where you are if he’s got an opinion he’s going to express it regardless if you asked or not. He loved a good joke, and getting one over on someone. and he never saw a stranger.
We want to give thanks to God. Thank you, God for giving us him, thank you for showing all of us how to lead life with your Head held high, and never be afraid to be and say what you want.
And lastly I’d like to thank him. Thank you for selfless sacrifices you made to ensure we had a good life. You lead the way for this family and it’s our turn to take all the life lessons you have taught all of us, weather that’s how to drive a tractor, ride a horse, what a work ethic is, all the way down to tying our shoes.
Pappaw as you watch over us and guide us into our next steps I hope you are always proud.
Thank you for always giving us a place to come home too.
We will see you and mammaw one day, until then we will save you a seat.
I’ll end this with a Bible verse.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
— 2 Timothy 4:7
